Vanta Launcher v1.2 Release! 馃殌

This update focuses on expanding personalization, deep social integration, streamlined mod management directly from the UI, and full isolation for active game versions.

Features & Improvements

  • Integrated Mods Manager (Modrinth Integration):
    Added a new tab in the settings drawer that allows you to search the Modrinth API directly. You can now browse, install, and delete Fabric mods on a per-version basis without leaving the launcher.

  • Per-Version Instance Isolation:
    To prevent configurations, worlds, and mods from conflicting across different Minecraft versions, each profile now operates in its own isolated directory under .Vanta/instances/<version>. Large shared assets and libraries are still shared with .minecraft to optimize disk usage.

  • Discord Rich Presence (RPC):
    Added Discord integration via pypresence. Your Discord profile can now dynamically display your playing status (e.g., active Minecraft version) and launcher activity. This feature can be toggled on or off in the Settings drawer.

  • Dynamic Avatar Preview:
    The launcher now automatically fetches and displays a real-time preview of the player's head skin (using the Minotar API) based on the username entered in the text field.

  • Improved Performance Mode:
    When enabled, the launcher automatically installs the Fabric loader and downloads essential optimization mods (including Sodium, Lithium, FerriteCore, and EntityCulling) matched to your active version.

  • Intuitive RAM Allocation Slider:
    A slider has been added to the settings drawer, allowing you to easily allocate between 2 to 16 GB of RAM, with preferences automatically saved.

  • Modern Animations & UI Polish:
    Added smooth fade transitions for opening/closing, a sliding panel animation for settings and mods, and enhanced taskbar minimization logic.

Bug Fixes

  • Asyncio Windows Warnings Silenced:
    Implemented a patch to suppress noisy traceback warnings on Windows during asyncio event loop teardown and GC pipe transport cleanup.

  • Directory Cluttering Fixed:
    Solved an issue where a logs/ folder would occasionally be generated in the same directory as the launcher executable. All game and log outputs are now correctly routed to the active profile's folder.

  • Play Button Guard Clauses:
    Added safeguards to prevent launching the game before the version list has fully loaded and initialized.

  • Path-Normalization Fixes:
    Corrected stylesheet image path-formatting issues on Windows to ensure UI icons render consistently without backslash conflict issues.

Installation

  1. Download the latest Vanta.Launcher.exe (Windows) or execute the source on Linux.
  2. Enter your username, select a version, and click Play.
