Preview of desktop connection-manager support. Requires a desktop build containing pingdotgg/t3code#12148; existing released T3 builds do not support this mode.
Install globally:
npm install -g https://github.com/samdickson22/t3code-thread-mcp/releases/download/v0.3.0-next.2/t3code-thread-mcp-0.3.0-next.2.tgz
Register t3code-thread-mcp --desktop with your MCP host. Keep the bridge-enabled desktop open. No parent thread, remote URL, or token is required. Direct-connection configuration remains available.
Validation: 17 standalone tests passed (one opt-in live test skipped); 32 native focused tests and three package typechecks passed. Independent Codex reviews signed off both implementations. A real Astra-low controller on a Mac mini used the desktop's T3 Connect connection to create and message a Fable 5.1-low thread on a physical MacBook Air, settle it, and revive it with retained history. The attached screenshot shows both replies. The packaged global install separately discovered both live environments.
Live SSH transport was not separately tested. This does not automatically register MCP tools in remote providers or add native conversation-fork support.
Desktop mode is enabled on macOS and Linux only. Windows desktop mode fails closed pending authenticated named-pipe support; direct connection configuration remains available.
