The Security group contains features for protecting your device, restricting access, and controlling what happens when your screen is locked.

Screen Locked Security

ID: Screen locked security
Permissions: SHIZUKU or ROOT
Toggle: Yes

Restricts the status bar and Quick Settings from being expanded when the screen is locked. Prevents someone from accessing network toggles (airplane mode, mobile data) or other QS shortcuts without unlocking the device first.

How it works

Uses Shizuku or Root to set system security flags that control QS panel accessibility on the lock screen.

App Lock

Permissions: ACCESSIBILITY or USAGE_STATS (your choice)
Toggle: Yes

Biometric authentication gate for individual apps. Select which apps require a fingerprint/face/PIN to open.

Settings

Detection Mode

• Accessibility mode (default): Monitors app launches via AccessibilityEvent.TYPE_WINDOW_STATE_CHANGED — most reliable.
• Usage Stats mode (optional): Uses UsageStatsManager to poll foreground app — less battery impact but slight delay.

Switch between modes from the feature's settings page.

Notes

• When a protected app is opened, Essentials shows the biometric prompt. The app is not interrupted if auth succeeds.
• If biometric is not set up, falls back to device PIN/password.

Shut-Up!

ID: Shut-Up!
Permissions: WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS, USAGE_STATS

Selectively duck or mute audio from specific apps. Useful for silencing notification sounds from chatty apps while keeping other audio working — or for muting in-app ads.

Lockdown Mode

ID: Lockdown mode
Permissions: DEVICE_ADMIN
Toggle: Yes

Instantly puts the device into a full lockdown state where:

• Biometrics are temporarily disabled (PIN/password required only)
• Smart Lock is disabled
• Notifications are hidden on lock screen

How it works

Uses the DevicePolicyManager.lockNow(DevicePolicyManager.FLAG_EVICT_CREDENTIAL_ENCRYPTION_KEY) API after activating the app as a Device Administrator.

Activate lockdown with a single tile tap from anywhere.

To grant Device Admin

• Tap the permission card in the Lockdown feature settings
• Accept the Device Administrator activation dialog
