What's New in v1.0.0

DockHub 1.0 is here — the unified, glassy dock that replaces your taskbar on Windows and enhances your desktop on macOS. Built with modern native technologies (.NET 10 on Windows, Swift 6 on macOS), DockHub delivers full feature parity across both platforms with zero administrative rights required.

macOS Support (macOS 15 Sequoia)

  • Native Swift 6 Architecture: Built from the ground up for macOS 15 using Swift 6 with strict concurrency, AppKit panels, and SwiftUI views.
  • Desktop Parity: Floating glass dock, bottom/top/left/right positioning, small/medium/large sizes, transparent backgrounds, and smooth spring animations.
  • Dock Replacement or Companion: Option to automatically hide the system Dock while DockHub runs (Settings › General) and restore it on exit, or run side-by-side.
  • Mac-Specific Widgets:
    • Calendar: Next meeting from Google Calendar, Outlook, or any iCal (.ics) link with one-click Join for Zoom, Teams, and Meet.
    • Clipboard History: Remembers copied text and images; password managers (org.nspasteboard.ConcealedType) are strictly ignored.
    • Folder Stack: Quick access to Downloads (or any chosen folder) with file drag-out.
    • AirDrop & Shortcuts: Drag files onto the AirDrop icon to share immediately, or trigger Apple Shortcuts with a click.
    • Battery & Bluetooth Devices: Live charge indicators for Mac and connected Bluetooth accessories.
    • Stocks & Currencies: Real-time stock prices (Stooq) and forex/crypto rates (Frankfurter, CoinGecko).
    • To Do: Today's task list (offline or synchronized with Todoist).
    • Screenshots & Ping: Instant screen captures and server latency monitoring.
  • Single Settings Schema: Cross-platform config.json configuration compatible between Windows and macOS.
  • Multilingual: Full interface localization in English, Turkish, German, and Spanish.

Web Widgets & SDK 1.0

  • Custom Widgets with Web Technologies: Develop lightweight widgets using standard HTML, CSS, and modern JavaScript.
  • window.dockhub API (v2): Secure native bridge supporting settings persistence, key-value storage (256 KB per widget), system notifications, dark/light theme variables, and HTTP requests via host proxy.
  • .dockwidget Package Format: Single-file zip archives with verified manifests, entry-point protection, and granular network permissions.
  • Widget Gallery: Discover, install, and configure web widgets directly within Settings.

Crash Recovery (.NET 10 on Windows)

  • Automatic Crash Recovery: If DockHub closes unexpectedly, Windows restarts it automatically after one minute.
  • Loop Prevention: If 3 restarts occur within 10 minutes, DockHub stops safely and restores the standard Windows taskbar with a diagnostic notice.
  • Diagnostic Privacy: Safe crash summaries recording module and exception type without personal paths or window titles.
  • .NET 10 Runtime: Upgraded to Microsoft .NET 10 with long-term support through November 2028.

Improvements & Fixes

  • Global hotkeys support (Carbon on macOS, RegisterHotKey on Windows).
  • Multi-profile management with rules for displays, apps, and time intervals.
  • Full Undo support (Ctrl+Z / ⌘Z) for dock arrangement and layout modifications.
  • Seamless, borderless widget styles and customizable item spacing.
  • Continuous integration and automated test suites verifying config schema compatibility and translation completeness.

Download & Installation

  • Windows: Download DockHub-Setup-1.0.0-x64.exe (or -arm64.exe for Snapdragon/ARM devices). Installs without admin privileges and auto-updates.
  • macOS: Download DockHub-1.0.0.dmg, open the disk image, and drag DockHub to /Applications.
