bytepad v0.25.0

A hardening and maintenance release. Updating is recommended.

What's in it

• Tightened default configuration across the desktop app, the embedded server and the container image
• Credentials are now kept in platform secure storage on desktop, with an explicit opt-in and a plain-language warning on the web build
• Cloud sync payloads are validated when received, so a malformed or partial remote document is refused rather than applied
• Level progression is preserved across the updated level table — existing XP, streaks and achievements carry over
• Fixed the production web bundle failing to start
• The container image now builds from a clean checkout, and its search endpoints are reachable
• Firestore access rules are now included, along with the setup steps to deploy them
• Continuous integration now runs linting, type-checking and builds on every change, including the main process and the container server
• Numerous dependency updates

Installation

• Windows — download and run the .exe installer
• macOS — open the .dmg and drag bytepad to Applications
• Linux — chmod +x the .AppImage and run it, or install the .deb

Builds are not code-signed yet, so macOS and Windows may warn on first launch.
