Orchard Download Manager 1.1.0

@github-actions github-actions released this 16 Oct 08:22

Downloads now come to you: links from the browser open a window right where you're working, and the app stays out of the way when a download finishes.

What's new

  • Links from the browser, the clipboard or a second start open the Add dialog in a window of its own. It opens next to the window you're working in and takes the focus, so you can confirm a download without switching to the app. The list's window stays where it is.
  • When the file is already there, you can now also skip the download, or be asked each time: keep both (the new file gets a number), replace the old file, or skip. Tick "Remember my decision for files of this type" to answer once per file type. Set it under Settings › Downloads › When the file already exists.
  • Adding a link that's still downloading asks too: keep both or skip.
  • A finished download no longer brings the app forward or asks for attention. While the app is in the background, you get a system notification instead.
  • "Choose…" next to a folder field opens a folder picker with your standard folders, drives and Orchard Commander's bookmarks (⌘D or Ctrl+D), and can bookmark the folder shown.

Orchard Download Manager 1.0.1

@github-actions github-actions released this 15 Oct 18:40

A maintenance release. The window, the settings file, the dialogs and the color schemes now come from Orchard Commons, a library shared with Orchard Commander and Orchard Music Player. Nothing changes in how the app looks or works, and your settings and downloads stay where they are.

Orchard Download Manager 1.0.0

@github-actions github-actions released this 14 Oct 15:48

The first release of Orchard Download Manager: a keyboard-friendly download manager from the Orchard family, with the same look and color schemes as Orchard Commander and Orchard Music Player.

What it does

  • Splits each download over up to 32 connections; a connection that finishes takes over half of the biggest part left
  • Resumes after a broken connection or a restart, and retries on its own
  • A queue with a limit on downloads at once, speed modes (low, medium, high) and a schedule for nights or chosen days
  • Add one link, many at once, or a numbered series like lecture-[01-12].mp4; copied links are offered automatically
  • Sorts files into a folder per kind, checks SHA-256, SHA-1 or MD5 checksums, and keeps the computer awake while downloading
  • Ready for the browser extension for Chrome (in review at the Chrome Web Store): the browser's downloads and right-clicked links go to the app, with the cookies they need
