What's included

EncryptionApp v2 is a desktop application for AES-256-GCM encryption of files, text, and passwords. All cryptographic operations run entirely locally — no network access, no cloud storage.

Features

• File Encryption — Chunked AES-256-GCM encryption for arbitrarily large files, with live progress bar and mid-operation cancellation. Incomplete output files are automatically deleted on cancel or error.
• Text Encryption — Encrypt and decrypt text in memory; export/import as .etxt files; copy result to clipboard.
• Password Vault — Encrypted local vault (~/.encryptionapp_vault.json) to store usernames, passwords, and notes; master key is wiped from memory on lock.
• Key Management — Generate or load 256-bit .key files; verify authenticity via SHA-256 fingerprint; loaded key is shared across all pages.
• Dual key modes — All operations accept either a password (Scrypt KDF) or a raw key file.
• Light / Dark theme — Toggle from the sidebar.

Installation

Option A — Run from source

pip install -r requirements.txt
python main.py

Option B — Windows executable (no Python required)

Download EncryptionApp.exe from the binaries below and run it directly.

Built with Python 3.13 + PyInstaller 6.19 on Windows 11 x64.
