SLX Studio 2.0.0 is the first stable release of the lightweight Model + Code + Simulation-first desktop direction. The release keeps the Python engineering core independent while adding the Electron/TypeScript/Monaco workbench, persistent local MATLAB execution, bounded static SLX inspection, validated model edits and a trusted first-party extension host.

• Electron + Monaco code editing with multi-file workspaces, diagnostics, output and problems views.
• Persistent MATLAB Command Window and .m file/section jobs with bounded incremental output, cancellation, figures, workspace state and source diagnostics.
• Static .slx model viewport plus validated parameter edits, undo/redo, source-hash conflict protection, atomic saves and isolated SimulationInput runs.
• Demand-driven trusted extension host with sample and first-party MATLAB/Simulink contributions.
• Windows portable desktop, Electron installer, legacy PyInstaller EXE and legacy installer.
• Independent Python CLI/package for static parsing, diff, review and agent context.

Validation

• Python test suite: 148 passed, 9 skipped locally.
• Real MATLAB R2026a integration and Electron end-to-end gates passed on the unchanged runtime implementation.

Boundaries

MATLAB/Simulink remains an external prerequisite for execution, real model writes and simulation. This release does not claim full MATLAB language-server parity, a pausing/step debugger, profiler, remote execution, marketplace, or complete graphical Simulink equivalence. Static parsing is intentionally conservative and reports unsupported structures for authoritative MATLAB/Simulink review.

This prerelease publishes the clean Beta 2 source tree.

Highlights:

• Hardened Simulink path handling for literal / and newline-containing block names across parsing, navigation, rename and edit paths.
• Added stale recovery-draft detection, transactional structural model writes, shared MATLAB base-workspace semantics, and a shared execution gate for script, Command Window, simulation, sweep and Agent jobs.
• Restricted automatic AI/Blueprint parameter writes and convenience Sweep/Stop Time inputs to safe bounded values.
• Added Windows MATLAB discovery fallback, desktop browser fallback, tightened provider compatibility, and expanded adversarial regression coverage to 69 tests.

Validation warning

This is a Beta, not a stable release. Real .m execution and real .slx creation, editing and simulation require a local MATLAB/Simulink installation. The included Windows EXE/installer are built by GitHub Actions and should be treated as prerelease artifacts.
