poe2pricer 1.3.0

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 23 Oct 13:03

1.3.0: prices in your recordings, a notice before the first start, large text sizes.

  • Capture the game window only (on; Windows 11): the game is read from its own window through Windows.Graphics.Capture instead of the screen, so the overlay no longer hides from screen captures. The NVIDIA app, OBS and Game Bar record the desktop again, with the prices in the video. The game gets no message for it. Windows 10 reads the screen as before.
  • A notice before the first start, once: what the program does and does not do, and that GGG approves no third-party tool; Run or Quit. Copies from before see it once after the update. README and Help have a new section "Third-party tools and GGG" with GGG's statements, their sources, and where this tool stands to them.
  • UI Text Size Large and Extra Large: no warning any more. Both are checked on two players' pictures at 1080, 1440, 2160 and 3440, every window (#1). Fixed there: the tribute dialog, stash items with tier marks and large stacks, tooltips over a stash tab.
  • Ritual: a dialog that opens while the prices are shown (tribute, reroll) is found at once; the prices leave its text.
  • Tablets, Overseer: a group asking for both wordings of a twin pair ("an additional Essence", "# additional Essences") means both.
  • Settings: the "Display" box is "Prices and display" and holds the league.
  • Troubleshooting in README and Help: stutter, recordings without prices, NVIDIA desktop capture.
  • The build's inputs are pinned (global.json, lock files); built by GitHub Actions, SHA256SUMS.txt in the release.

Full list: CHANGELOG.md. Installed copies: click the update notice. Zip: unpack the new zip.

Built by GitHub Actions from v1.3.0 (ab23327), run https://github.com/saxe78/poe2pricer/actions/runs/39957660714. SHA256 sums in SHA256SUMS.txt and in the log of the run.

Fifth release: waystones and tablets. Installed copies offer the update in the status line and the tray; nothing is downloaded or installed until you click it. The zips tell you about it.

Added

  • Waystones tab: profiles (summary values, tier, revives, corrupted, mods in "and" / "or" / "not" groups as on the trade site). From a profile: a search text for the stash search, and its price on the trade site ("Refresh price").
  • Tablets tab: the same for each kind of tablet, with the uses left.
  • Live price at the tooltip of a waystone or tablet, from the trade site of pathofexile.com, asked in the words of the closest profile with the item's own values (without a profile, exactly as the item is). Switched on in Settings → Display ("Live price from the trade site"); "incl. premium stash (online)" adds sellers who are online to Instant Buyout. Alt+D ("Force live price") asks for the item exactly as it is.
  • Waystones and tablets in the English and the German game client; search text and mod lists follow the client's language.
  • Stash tabs inside a stash folder are found in the keyboard UI (contributed by gazevans-pixel, #2).
  • The log's start line names the date.

Changed

  • Updates only on a click: before, an installed copy downloaded a new version in the background and installed it when you quit.
  • A UI Text Size other than medium gives a hint only, without a tray notice (#1).
  • When poe.ninja cannot be reached, the log names the reason (host, secure connection, time-out).
  • Releases are built by GitHub Actions from the tag; SHA256SUMS.txt in the release and the public log of the run name the checksum of every file.

Fixed

  • Favours: a tooltip over empty cells reached the screen's edge at large text sizes and hid the items below it (#1).
  • Island Rumours: the island was not recognised when its ship marker is drawn dimmer (#1).
  • A diagnosis taken after the overlay hid itself reported the window shown before.

Known limits

  • Waystone and tablet tooltips are read through the half-transparent tooltip; a bright background behind it can cost a line or a number. A calm background reads best.
  • The game's compare view (Ctrl held) draws tooltips smaller; they are not recognised.
  • Game in English or German; other languages: only the Ritual window and the stash tabs.

Download

  • poe2pricer-app-win-Setup.exe — installs for your user account (no administrator rights), Start menu entry, uninstall through Windows, updates on a click. Recommended.
  • poe2pricer-1.2.0-win-x64.zip — the same program to unpack anywhere; tells you about new versions but does not update itself.
  • poe2pricer-1.2.0-win-x64-framework-dependent.zip — smaller; needs the .NET 10 Desktop Runtime.

The other files (poe2pricer-app-1.2.0-full.nupkg, releases.win.json, assets.win.json, RELEASES) are what the installed program reads to update itself; SHA256SUMS.txt holds the checksums (sha256sum -c SHA256SUMS.txt).

Requirements
Windows 10 version 2004 or later, 64-bit; the Windows text recognition for English (United States), which the program offers to install. Details in the README and in the guide that opens from the program's Help button.

@saxe78 saxe78 released this 20 Oct 07:46

Fourth release: hardening after a security read of the code, prompted by the Reddit thread. Nothing changes in what you see; installed copies offer the update by themselves, the zips do not.

Changed

  • Item art is decoded by the Windows Imaging Component (the decoder of the Explorer and the browsers, patched with Windows) instead of the decoder in OpenCV, and only after the file's own header has passed: a PNG with an alpha channel, at most 1024 pixels a side, complete to its end. This was the one place where data from the network met a parser shipped with the program.

Fixed

  • Item art is fetched only from web.poecdn.com. A poe.ninja answer naming another address is ignored instead of followed.
  • The release page a zip copy opens on a click is taken from GitHub's answer only when it lies in this repository; anything else leads to the releases page.
  • Answers from poe.ninja, the image server, the rumour table and GitHub are read up to 32 MB and dropped beyond.
  • A diagnosis no longer holds the two file paths from the settings (game settings file, data folder), which carry the Windows user name.

Added

  • README: a "Trust" section — what the program reads, sends and runs, the keyboard hook, the unsigned updater, what a diagnosis contains, and which files to read for a review.

Known limits

  • Dragging or zooming the Atlas between two openings of the Rumours panel, or switching between keyboard and controller, starts a new collection for the same island (the Atlas is drawn in perspective); opening the panel without moving the Atlas is always recognised.
  • Game in English or German; other languages: only the Ritual window and the stash tabs.

Download

  • poe2pricer-app-win-Setup.exe — installs for your user account (no administrator rights), Start menu entry, uninstall through Windows, updates itself. Recommended.
  • poe2pricer-1.1.2-win-x64.zip — the same program to unpack anywhere; tells you about new versions but does not update itself.
  • poe2pricer-1.1.2-win-x64-framework-dependent.zip — smaller; needs the .NET 10 Desktop Runtime.

The other files (poe2pricer-app-1.1.2-full.nupkg, releases.win.json) are what the installed program reads to update itself.

Requirements
Windows 10 version 2004 or later, 64-bit; the Windows text recognition for English (United States), which the program offers to install; UI Text Size at the standard setting. Details and troubleshooting in the README and in the guide that opens from the program's Help button.

poe2pricer 1.1.1

Choose a tag to compare

@saxe78 saxe78 released this 19 Oct 20:38

Third release, the same day as 1.1.0: a fix release. Installed copies offer the update by themselves; the zips do not.

Fixed

  • The program no longer writes pictures of its own into the diagnostics folder. 1.0.0 and 1.1.0 kept two full screenshots of every reroll they detected in the Ritual window, without end (%LOCALAPPDATA%\poe2pricer\diagnostics; a map of fifty rerolls left several hundred megabytes). Now only the diagnostics key writes there. If you want to help with a bug report, "Extended diagnostics" (Settings → Hotkeys, off by default) keeps at most three pictures of each kind. Nothing is sent anywhere either way. You can delete the old pictures in that folder.
  • Island Rumours: a roll read right after the panel was briefly out of sight counts; "complete" is lifted again when three rows return; in the controller UI the next island is no longer merged into the previous one when its first picture shows little of the chart; a reopening that shows less of the chart no longer replaces the richer reading the island is recognised by.
  • Two islands the community table has swapped ("Something Fishy" is Barren Atoll, "Bleak and Awful" is Bleached Shoals, as the game's own texts say) are shown as in the game.
  • The tier weights are saved even when the ratings file cannot be written.
  • At 3840×2160 the quick check of an open window paced itself faster than its screen capture took; it and the automatic scan now keep to half the time at most.

Added

  • The version number in the program window links to the changelog.

  • poe2pricer-1.1.1-win-x64.zip — the same program to unpack anywhere; tells you about new versions but does not update itself.
  • poe2pricer-1.1.1-win-x64-framework-dependent.zip — smaller; needs the .NET 10 Desktop Runtime.

The other files (poe2pricer-app-1.1.1-full.nupkg, releases.win.json) are what the installed program reads to update itself.

Requirements
Windows 10 version 2004 or later, 64-bit; the Windows text recognition for English (United States), which the program offers to install; UI Text Size at the standard setting. Details and troubleshooting in the README and in the guide that opens from the program's Help button.

poe2pricer 1.1.0

Choose a tag to compare

@saxe78 saxe78 released this 19 Oct 17:24

Second release. Installed copies offer the update by themselves; the zips do not.

New

  • Island Rumours are collected per island. The panel shows three rumours at a time and rolls them anew when you move an item in the inventory. poe2pricer recognises the island by the sea chart around it and keeps what it has seen there: rumours no longer on the panel are listed under it, new ones are marked, and an expedition tier (the mean of the tiers seen, as a tier) sums the island up, with the number of rumours and rolls. Fewer than three on the panel means the island has no more; after enough rolls without anything new it says "probably complete". With three on the panel the card reminds you to move an item for more. The weight of each tier for the expedition tier is yours to set in the Rumours tab.
  • Prices in Exalted or Chaos. Settings → Display → "Prices in". From one Divine on prices stay in Divine either way. Asked for on reddit.

Known limits

  • Dragging or zooming the Atlas between two openings of the panel starts a new collection for the same island; opening it without moving the Atlas is always recognised.
  • Game in English or German; other languages: only the Ritual window and the stash tabs.

Download

  • poe2pricer-app-win-Setup.exe — installs for your user account (no administrator rights), Start menu entry, uninstall through Windows, updates itself. Recommended.
  • poe2pricer-1.1.0-win-x64.zip — the same program to unpack anywhere; tells you about new versions but does not update itself.
  • poe2pricer-1.1.0-win-x64-framework-dependent.zip — smaller; needs the .NET 10 Desktop Runtime.

The other files (poe2pricer-app-1.1.0-full.nupkg, releases.win.json) are what the installed program reads to update itself.

Requirements
Windows 10 version 2004 or later, 64-bit; the Windows text recognition for English (United States), which the program offers to install; UI Text Size at the standard setting. Details and troubleshooting in the README and in the guide that opens from the program's Help button.

poe2pricer 1.0.0

Choose a tag to compare

@saxe78 saxe78 released this 18 Oct 13:07

First public release.

Download

  • poe2pricer-app-win-Setup.exe — installs for your user account (no administrator rights), Start menu entry, uninstall through Windows, updates itself. Recommended.
  • poe2pricer-1.0.0-win-x64.zip — the same program to unpack anywhere; tells you about new versions but does not update itself.
  • poe2pricer-1.0.0-win-x64-framework-dependent.zip — smaller; needs the .NET 10 Desktop Runtime.

The other files (poe2pricer-app-1.0.0-full.nupkg, releases.win.json) are what the installed program reads to update itself.

What it does
Reads the Path of Exile 2 window from the screen and writes poe.ninja prices next to what it recognises: the Ritual window (Favours), the Expedition remnant list, the special stash tabs and the Island Rumours panel of the Atlas. Nothing about you or your game is sent anywhere; see the README for what it requests.

Requirements
Windows 10 version 2004 or later, 64-bit; the Windows text recognition for English (United States), which the program offers to install; the game in English or German; UI Text Size at the standard setting. Details and troubleshooting in the README and in the guide that opens from the program's Help button.
