Follow up update on initial implementation of OpenSharing server for static Tables and Volumes, focused on NetApp StorageGRID and Versity S3 Gateway with NetApp E-Series.

New

  • Experimental S3/RDMA support for Versity S3 Gateway S3/RDMA (as of commit 8bd73a4). OpenSharing Server returns S3/RDMA pre-signed URLs when server and client support S3/RDMA. S3/RDMA client and demo is not yet included, but may be after Versity releases S3/RDMA support (probably in 1.8.0)

Compatibility

  • Tested with StorageGRID 12.0, 12.1 and Versity S3 Gateway 1.7.0 and up to commit 8bd73a4. OpenSharing with S3/RDMA was tested only with both OpenSharing and Versity S3 Gateway running on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS. OpenSharing Server doesn't have RDMA dependencies so it should work on any of these OS and architectures as long as Versity S3 Gateway S3/RDMA is functional
