PlayWeld 0.10.2

Prepared release notes; publication and build acceptance require separate evidence.

Prepare version 0.10.2

Category: Maintenance

Impact: none

Prepare version 0.10.2 from 0.10.1, retaining all pending work records in the changelog and detailed release notes.

Synchronize first-party workspace and internal dependency versions. The lockfile must be refreshed separately. No tag, publication, or build is performed by version preparation.

Validation

Work-record freshness, local file coverage, version progression, and recorded impact checked before preparation. Dependency installation, refreshed lockfile verification, quality checks, packaging, signing, and live acceptance are not yet verified by this preparation record; retain their actual evidence in a follow-up work record.

Permanent work record.

Stabilize Windows CI Test Timeouts

Category: Fixed

Impact: patch

The v0.10.0 Windows release job exceeded Vitest's default five-second timeout in a SQLite vector-store test; v0.10.1 then timed out in the Project clone test. A previous full Windows-equivalent run also exposed a Qdrant readiness bound, fixed in v0.10.1; during v0.10.2 preparation, the Git-heavy release-ledger test exceeded five seconds locally. This test-only patch sets a 15-second platform-service default, adds 20-second deadlines to the Project-clone and release-ledger tests, and retains the SQLite/Qdrant bounds from v0.10.1. It does not change production behavior. The v0.10.0 and v0.10.1 tags remain unchanged, so the correction uses v0.10.2.

  • The Project clone test exercises database migration, chat copy, settings copy, task identity/leases, worktree exclusion, and vector-store exclusion across two Project records. It still checks the same behavior; only its deadline changes to 20 seconds.
  • Platform-service Vitest tests now use a 15-second default to avoid repeated cold Windows runner failures for integration tests. The SQLite and Qdrant cases retain the explicit 20/15-second bounds added in v0.10.1.
  • The release-ledger test still checks version progression and closed tracking before packaging; its timeout is 20 seconds to cover temporary-repository Git operations on cold runners.
  • No production runtime code changes.

Validation

  • npm test -w @gamecrafter/platform-service -- src/projects/workspace.test.ts — 1 file, 4 tests passed in 2.57 seconds locally.
  • npm run test:changes — 2 files, 24 tests passed in 57.47 seconds locally.
  • npx turbo run build typecheck lint test --output-logs=errors-only --force — all 33 tasks passed in 6m28s.
  • node scripts/check-release-version.cjs v0.10.2 and npm run changelog:check -- --release --base HEAD — passed.
  • npm run format:check, bash scripts/check-links.sh, system-reference/inventory checks, documentation-evidence check, and git diff --check — passed.
  • npm run package:win -w @gamecrafter/control-room — built the unsigned Windows x64 0.10.2 package; native dependencies, packaged platform-service startup/shutdown, and 30 bundled skills verified.
  • node scripts/stage-windows-release.cjs — staged the package at Windows-Release/0.10.2.
  • node scripts/verify-documentation-electron.cjs with GAMECRAFTER_ELECTRON_EXECUTABLE set to the staged executable — 30 isolated Electron/service checks passed with no renderer errors. Installer SHA-256: edaa5f328d0f724e6b24e69f2ad35517f20d53d48281c9970fc97aa92fb541a0.
  • The v0.10.1 Linux package job passed; its Windows package job failed when the Project-clone test exceeded five seconds. The corrective 0.10.2 Windows workflow passed; the v0.10.0 and v0.10.1 tags remain unchanged.
  • The GitHub v0.10.2 release workflow succeeded and the unsigned testing prerelease is published; NSIS install/uninstall, upgrade/rollback, signing, and live provider/A2A acceptance remain unverified.

Permanent work record.

Hosted Verification

Desktop Release workflow 37258256030 passed validation, Windows packaging, Linux packaging, and release metadata publication. This unsigned testing prerelease is published at https://github.com/scarecr0w12/PlayWeld/releases/tag/v0.10.2. The Windows installer SHA-256 is 8aaa3ba4c890064bd44d8d2fda74e533e3695e04d6a638cf991ea6bea8e33ef0. NSIS install/uninstall, upgrade/rollback, and live provider/A2A acceptance remain unverified.

GameCrafter 0.1.2 testing prerelease

Date: 2026-10-01

This patch repairs Control Room forms, model selection, chat request ownership and compact desktop layouts. It preserves the testing channel and the existing local platform-service storage boundary.

Included changes

  • Closed Control Room views get fresh widgets when reopened, preventing disposed widgets from producing blank tabs.
  • Field-backed controlled inputs update immediately. Settings text, number and list fields save on blur; model name and tag editors reflect the saved canonical values.
  • Model discovery previews the provider catalog without persisting it. Each account has a model picker with Add selected and Add all actions.
  • Chat captures its originating Project, conversation, history, model, mode and editor context before asynchronous work. Navigation cannot redirect a response or its streamed text to another conversation. Late errors remain with the origin, and stale history reads cannot replace the current transcript.
  • Chat retains a 320-pixel minimum dock width and adapts to its container width. Compact docks use a conversation dropdown. Settings controls wrap and remain reachable through vertical scrolling, and Home navigation buttons preserve words. The desktop window has an 800-by-600 minimum size.

Verification

  • A clean install and the full build, typecheck, lint and test run passed all 33 tasks at version 0.1.2. The platform-service suite had 330 passing tests and 11 configured skips; the Control Room extension had 27 passing tests, including eight chat ownership regressions.
  • The rebuilt Electron desktop was exercised at actual renderer sizes of 800 by 600 and 1440 by 1000 with a real platform service and an isolated fake HTTP/streaming provider. Checks included keyboard composition, the physical Send button, project and conversation navigation during responses, persisted answer ownership, Settings search/select/reset, and control bounds beside the Chat dock. No renderer errors were recorded.
  • Settings/model browser regressions verified repeated tab reopening, form input persistence, preview without writes, selected/add-all actions and saved model name/tag values.
  • Both application builds, formatting and diff checks passed.

The repeatable interaction checks are chat-layout-ui-smoke.cjs and settings-models-ui-smoke.cjs. The release workflow performs packaging checks on the tagged source; its run and attached artifacts are separate release evidence.

Installation and limits

Obtain the versioned Windows NSIS installer or Linux AppImage/DEB from this testing prerelease. Verify the files against SHA256SUMS.txt; gamecrafter-release.json records their hashes, the version and exact source commit. See the release guide.

The existing stable in-app update channel excludes testing prereleases. Signing status is determined by the attached metadata/signatures and executable; checksums alone are not publisher authentication. Paid-provider integration, installer install/uninstall, upgrade/rollback acceptance and the broader boundaries in implementation status remain open.

Packaged Windows acceptance

The standalone Windows executable passed five interaction checks at 800 by 600 and 1440 by 1000, including physical Send-button use, navigation during in-flight responses, persisted answer ownership and Settings control reachability beside Chat. No renderer errors were recorded. This used an isolated fake HTTP/SSE provider; installer installation and upgrade acceptance remain unverified.

@scarecr0w12 scarecr0w12 released this 02 Oct 01:42

GameCrafter 0.1.1 testing prerelease

Date: 2026-10-01

This testing prerelease brings the latest GameCrafter platform into versioned Windows/Linux packages. It is intended for local evaluation, with the normal user profile kept separate by the Windows test launcher.

Included changes

  • Dark violet/neon green Control Room theme and responsive workspace views.
  • Thirty bundled game-development skills with detailed domain references, Project enablement, role-aware activation and bounded reference reads.
  • Project-scoped chat, supervised agent/Swarm workflows, model routing, discussion records and knowledge retrieval.
  • Settings import/export, Audit & History and asset/provider contract repairs.
  • Project clone/restore identity corrections, process cleanup/timeouts, IPC error containment and update verification repairs.
  • Unity/Unreal live acceptance tooling and regression coverage for editor identity, screenshots and external JSON Schema dialects.
  • Detailed user, developer, architecture, integration, operations, RPC and settings documentation.
  • Synchronized workspace versions, tag/version guards, versioned local output and verification of shipped skill content and notices.

Test this version

Use the Windows NSIS installer attached to the GitHub prerelease, or the staged local Windows-Release/0.1.1/Launch-GameCrafter-Test.cmd. The latter launches the adjacent unpacked application with a dedicated profile/configuration. See the release guide for reproducible commands and artifact locations.

Verify the downloaded assets against SHA256SUMS.txt. Application/service versions are 0.1.1; package filenames, metadata and tag use the same version. The release manifest records the exact source commit.

Known limitations

This is an unsigned testing prerelease unless the supplied metadata/signatures or executable explicitly establish signing. Signing keys and a Windows certificate are not provisioned by the repository. Checksum verification is separate from publisher authentication.

Installer install/uninstall and upgrade/rollback acceptance remain open. Live model/generation providers, broader engine/OS targets, physical Windows input/accessibility, production-game validation, remote backup recovery and Windows plugin isolation also retain the boundaries in implementation status. The existing in-app stable update channel does not offer prereleases.

Validation and provenance

Source commit: 4ffc8dc25f63be1ef2e8f8bcbec4e5c4be1a9cc9 (annotated tag v0.1.1). Local full checks passed 33/33 tasks on Windows and Linux: 429 Linux tests and 417 Windows tests with 12 capability skips. The native Windows package passed 23 UI checks with zero renderer errors and activated/read the 30-skill library from its packaged resources.

Windows was built and validated locally; AppImage and DEB are from the successful tagged Linux CI job. The first tagged workflow stopped after Windows quality checks because of a CRLF-only documentation comparison. The comparison is corrected on main; the original source tag is preserved. Every package and the release manifest has a verified SHA-256 entry.
