MacDown 3000 is a modern, open-source Markdown editor for macOS.

This release brings a working Quick Look extension for Markdown files, anchor-link navigation via slug-based heading IDs, a live selection character/word count, a new GitHub Dark editor theme, safer file handling on remote and network volumes, and a wide range of fixes to toolbar behavior, preview rendering, table layout, and localized preference panes.

Known Issues

  • On French and other localized builds, the Compilation tab of the Preferences window has a layout regression where the code-block syntax-coloration control overlaps adjacent text. This is cosmetic and does not affect functionality. Tracked in #397 and targeted for 3000.0.8.
