MathCoffee Community Alpha

MathCoffee is now available for community development under Apache-2.0.
This alpha packages a local, agent-native mathematics-video framework for Codex
and Claude Code, with configurable style and separate user-owned workspaces.

Included in alpha.2

  • English-first README and documentation, with linked Simplified Chinese editions.
  • Apache-2.0 license, attribution, dependency notices, contribution/security guides,
    issue forms, a PR template, and lightweight read-only Ubuntu CI.
  • A single Apple Silicon Mac setup entry with core, render, and full profiles.
    The default is a read-only plan. Execution, missing TeX, and model download are
    explicit choices; environments and ownership/recovery receipts are versioned.
  • Profile-aware diagnostics, real font/TeX resource lookup, and Node/TeX discovery
    for desktop hosts without persistent shell configuration changes.
  • Complete host ZIPs with wheel, skills, setup helper, bilingual documentation,
    licenses, runtime locks, and contained local marketplace catalogs.
  • A fix for the legacy speech-model manifest reader and a source-distribution
    repair so the wheel rebuilds with the same SHA-256.

Start on a new Mac

Install Apple's Command Line Tools and native Homebrew using their official
instructions, then extract the matching ZIP to a new directory. From that directory:

The first command only prints the plan. TeX may request a normal administrator
prompt; the opt-in Qwen model is 4,520,218,951 bytes. Use --profile core for planning
only, or --profile render with supplied recordings. Read the installation guide
before running setup. Installing a host plugin alone does not download a model.

Validation and limits

Hosted CI passed: 75 Python checks, installed-wheel smoke, TypeScript, and 24 Node checks. One native FFmpeg mux test was explicitly skipped on the runner because FFmpeg/FFprobe was unavailable; native audio acceptance is not inferred from that CI run.

  • 191 core tests, 40 speech tests, and 4 optional voice-QA tests passed locally.
  • The 75-test lightweight subset passed in a fresh Python 3.13 environment without
    rendering/speech dependencies.
  • The actual Codex bundle passed isolated marketplace install/enable/use/remove;
    plugin resources stayed unchanged and user projects/core survived removal.
  • Real offline core creation, package-byte verification, CLI diagnosis, repeat
    execution, and a minimal-PATH launcher passed with Homebrew inventory/prerequisite
    paths substituted in the test harness. No system packages were installed for this test.
  • The committed source and source distribution reproduce the tested wheel exactly.
  • The earlier alpha.1 rendering/speech calibration remains separately documented;
    it has not been relabeled as alpha.2 media acceptance.

A fully blank Mac provisioning run, actual Claude Code loading, independent
new-topic production, three-chapter longform acceptance, author style confirmation,
and actual listening review remain community validation priorities. This is an
alpha prerelease, not a fully accepted production plugin or an official host-directory listing.

Assets and rights

Download the host ZIP for plugin installation. The wheel and sdist are also
available for CLI/source users. Check every downloaded artifact against SHA256SUMS.
The ZIPs contain no model weights, dependency environments, browser binaries,
recordings, video materials, or complete episode projects.

Framework Apache-2.0 licensing does not replace dependency terms, including
Remotion's separate license and usage terms.
Use your own channel identity and assets with appropriate rights.

新增贡献／安全指南、issue／PR 模板、轻量 CI，以及分 core、render、full 三档的 Mac
安装入口。默认只显示计划，--execute 才执行；TeX 与模型另行显式选择，作品目录和运行时分开。

空白 Mac 先自行完成 Apple Command Line Tools 与 Homebrew 安装，再解压对应宿主 ZIP，
按上面的三条命令准备环境。只规划用 core，已有录音用 render；模型约 4.52 GB，不会随
宿主插件安装自动下载。请先阅读中文安装指南并核对 SHA256SUMS。

本地 235 项 Python 测试通过，Codex 实装／卸载保留工程、离线 core 安装与恢复通过。
Homebrew 前置条件在 core 集成测试中使用了替身，不代表全新 Mac 实测完成。Claude 真实加载、
独立新题材制作、三章长片，以及作者的风格和听感确认仍待完成。媒体、权重和单期代码不在发布包中；
第三方依赖保留各自许可。欢迎通过贡献指南及 issue 模板参与这些验证和改进。
