📚 Contents

Short Stories & Meta-Fiction

  • Good Grief, Mr. Magoo A poignant exploration of perspective and survival. Charles Brewer Brown, a man cursed with paralyzing clarity, acts as a reluctant guide for Quincy Magoo, a man who navigates life through a series of incorrect—but highly functional—hallucinations.
  • Qasr al-Qamar A whimsical urban fantasy about a watchmaker who discovers a magnificent genie. The catch: the genie is legally bound to refrain from using any magic while actively granting a wish, forcing the pair to rely on entirely mundane methods to achieve the impossible.
  • The Answer Humanity pools its resources to build ORACLE, the ultimate supercomputer, to discover the meaning of life. After nine days of processing, the machine finally delivers its flawlessly reasoned, yet completely unexpected truth to 4.2 billion waiting people.
  • Always An Airport, Never An Airplane A meta-narrative featuring a poker game among stock-character leading men (Elias, Adrian, Nolan) who lament their lack of interiority, their unresolved backstories, and their perpetual containment in transitional scenes.
  • STOP READING THIS! You probably shouldn't read this.
  • That Jacket A surreal, disjointed narrative shifting from a sweaty insomniac observing a disgusting man in an otherworldly trench coat, to a woman executing revenge in an arcade, to a doomed drive on a mountain highway.

Sci-Fi & Game Design Documents (GDDs)

  • WAKE A comprehensive GDD for a scale-shifting, genre-bending game. The player begins as a single sentient microchip on a university lab workbench and must evolve through escalating scales of existence, constantly redefining the concept of the self.
  • QUIET! A design document and narrative opening for a survival horror/RTS tragedy. A traumatized military robot, Unit 0346, begins to equate noise with physical pain and deserts the battlefield on a desperate, escalating quest for absolute silence.
  • WOODEN A structural outline for a non-linear psychological horror novel. A grieving father attempts to document his resurrected son's recovery, using his professional vocabulary in fluid animation to rationalize the deeply unsettling truth of what he brought back.

Concept Pieces & Poetry

  • Fruit A mythic retelling of human origins where the "forbidden fruit" is a strange, glowing mushroom that sparks critical thinking, ritual, and early mathematics for a wandering tribe.
  • Don't They Know I'm Him An outline and experimental narrative mapping an ancient entity’s journey through historical epochs, inadvertently sparking human ambition while bound by the confines of a hypnotic poem.
  • The Skip The opening chapter of an aerospace thriller following Major Jeff Fischer as he tests an experimental hypersonic spacecraft governed by a highly unorthodox adaptive AI.
  • I Have No Butt and I Must Fart A comedic, rhyming poem detailing the harrowing, high-stakes internal struggle of maintaining digestive composure on a romantic date.
  • poem.txt A dark, industrial observation of factory workers, efficiency metrics, and the sinister underlying reality of an industrial slaughterhouse.
  • Another Life A brief reflection on the echoes of past-life trauma and the irony of current friendships.
  • Train Note A surreal, abstract piece of flash fiction playing with temporal mechanics, contradictory directives, and cosmic absurdity.
