Getting started

This section gets you from zero to your first successful response in a few minutes.

Prerequisites

  • A Sedis Partner API key (see below).
  • Any HTTP client — curl, Postman, or a few lines of Python/C# (Code examples).

Step 1 — Get an API key

API keys are issued by your Sedis administrator from the Sedis admin portal. A key looks like:

sedis_pk_live_8f3kQ2mZ...

You receive the full key exactly once, at issuance — Sedis stores only a hash and a short prefix, so it cannot show you the full key again. Store it in a secret manager. If you lose it, ask for a new one (old keys keep working until revoked — see Authentication).

Note: Sedis never asks for your key by email or chat. Treat it like a password.

Step 2 — Make your first request

Every request goes to https://api.sedis.se/v2/... and carries your key in the X-Api-Key header. Here is the canonical first call — the first five companies in Bolagsanalys:

curl -H "X-Api-Key: $SEDIS_API_KEY" \
  "https://api.sedis.se/v2/bolagsanalys/companies?pageSize=5"

Step 3 — Read the response

Every list endpoint returns the same bare envelope:

{
  "data": [
    {
      "companyId": "SE12345",
      "name": "Example Fastighets AB",
      "nextReportDate": "2026-07-15",
      "isInactive": false,
      "latestReportUri": "https://...",
      "countryCode": "SE",
      "nationalIdentificationNumber": "5560000000"
    }
  ],
  "page": 1,
  "pageSize": 5,
  "totalCount": 142,
  "totalPages": 29
}
  • data is the array of results. The item shape is the singular resource (a Company), never a wrapper.
  • page, pageSize, totalCount, totalPages describe the page you got. See Query conventions for paging, sorting, sparse fieldsets, and the ?count=false opt-out.

That's it. From here:

The Sedis MCP server now also ships a one-click Claude Desktop bundle (.mcpb) — see MCP server.

What you'll notice immediately (coming from v1)

  • It's REST, not OData — no $filter, $select, $top. Named query parameters instead (?companyId=, ?pageSize=).
  • Fields are camelCase (companyId, not CId).
  • Text is English by default — pass ?lang=sv for Swedish (Language and localization).
  • Auth is the X-Api-Key header, not Basic auth.

Full v1→v2 mapping is in Migrating from v1.
