Code Name: "Guardrail"

🛡️ Overview

"Guardrail" is a targeted bugfix release addressing three user-reported issues: dashboard navigation, UI scroll jitter, and the fast-path pattern matcher incorrectly claiming non-light device commands. The pattern matcher now correctly bails to the LLM for fans, ACs, TVs, locks, and other non-light devices, and the temporal bail-signal logic was refined to stop false-positiving on spatial prepositions like "in the kitchen."

🐛 Bug Fixes

Dashboard Navigation (#113)

  • "Back to Traces" link now navigates to /traces instead of / (which is the Activity page). Reported by @paulglavin.

Entity Checkbox Scroll (#113)

  • BulkActionBar layout shift — clicking entity checkboxes no longer causes the page to scroll. The bulk action bar now collapses via CSS (h-0 invisible overflow-hidden) instead of unmounting from the DOM, eliminating the layout shift that occurred when transitioning between 0 and 1+ selected items.

Fast-Path Pattern Matcher — Non-Light Device Bail

  • Commands like "turn office fan on", "turn off the AC", "turn on the TV" no longer match LightControlSkill. A new non-light device token set (fan, ac, tv, lock, door, speaker, vacuum, etc.) causes the pattern matcher to reject the match and defer to the LLM orchestrator.
  • Temporal preposition fix — "in" and "at" no longer unconditionally trigger bail signals. They now only bail when followed by a number, duration word, or digit-prefixed time token (e.g., "7pm", "10am", "30min"), not when used as spatial prepositions ("lights on in the kitchen"). This fixes a pre-existing false positive in area-based light commands.

🧪 Tests

  • 20 new CommandPatternMatcherTests: temporal bail (4), spatial pass-through (2), fan bail (4), other non-light devices (6), light-word exception regressions (4)
  • All 35 pattern matcher tests passing
  • 278/279 Wyoming test suite passing (1 pre-existing DI registration test unrelated to this release)
