New Features:

  • Added option for region-specific PCA normalization: Users can now employ region-specific PCA normalization by setting use_pca_per_region to TRUE when calling infer_normality.

Related internal changes due to the added region-specific PCA normalization:

  • Logging for PCA normalization has been enhanced for better monitoring and troubleshooting.
  • Applying both PCA and PCA per region normalization could result in NAs for bin counts due to excessive PCA settings. NAs for bins are now replaced with 0s, preventing analysis failures in such cases.
  • Added tolerance (tol = 1e-20) to Mahalanobis distance calculations.
  • Implemented a try-catch mechanism to handle errors during Mahalanobis calculations such that per region NA is set for risk score if region calculation fails.
