  • Per-phase agent selection — run.phases.<phase>.agent runs one phase on a different driver (e.g. codex for exec, Claude Code for qa); roles and ladder rungs resolve per phase, and doctor checks every driver the run uses (#1150)
  • In-place checkout mode — SEQUANT_CHECKOUT=in-place lets /exec, /qa, /loop and /testgen work on a branch in the current clone instead of a worktree; opt-in only (#1136)

Bug Fixes

  • Writers never follow a symlink: init/sync/update replace a link at a destination they write instead of overwriting its target, and a directory in a file's place is named and skipped instead of crashing (#1122), .mcp.json and client MCP configs included (#1160)
  • sync settles when node_modules holds an older sequant, and update no longer rewrites scripts/dev links every run — it tells you to run sequant sync instead (#1159)
  • new-feature.sh and sequant run derive the same branch name for long issue titles; --print-branch previews it (#1145)
  • sequant init --yes no longer replaces an unparseable .mcp.json (#1123)
  • role: references and ladder rungs resolve against the --agent driver when it overrides run.agent (#1150)
  • parseQaVerdict records the final verdict heading, not the first mention (#1119)
  • run.codex.networkAccess no longer warns as an unknown settings key
