RepoDeck 1.11.0 adds in-app guidance and commit-author setup, makes operation results readable, and fixes the reported diff-window crash on macOS 27.
Highlights
- Offline Help: choose Help → RepoDeck Help for 18 searchable workflow and troubleshooting topics, related articles, and back/forward navigation. Contextual Help links take you to the relevant guidance.
- Actionable errors: messages stay inside the workspace instead of covering the title bar or sidebar. Details & Help provides the complete diagnostic, copyable technical details, and appropriate next steps.
- Clear bulk results: successful Fetch All/Pull All operations show success. Results lists the original repositories and their succeeded, failed, or skipped outcomes, including busy repositories.
- Commit-author setup: configure the default name and email for one repository or Git on this Mac, directly from the sidebar, Repository Settings, or a commit-author error.
- Accurate author display: the sidebar asks Git which author it resolves for ordinary new commits, including author-specific configuration and inherited environment overrides. GitHub account information is labeled separately.
- Diff-window reliability: the diff pane stays inside the detail workspace and avoids the reproduced AppKit constraint-update loop. Workspace selection and drafts remain mounted while the pane opens or closes.
Commit author settings
Select a repository, then choose Configure Author… or Edit Author… under Commit author. Enter your default name and email, select This repository or My Git default, review the destination, and choose Save Commit Author.
The form shows the author Git actually resolves, which can differ from the defaults you edit. It explains remaining overrides and unresolved author errors. Drafts survive failures and scope changes; configuration and repository state are checked before writes. Name and email are separate Git writes, so an interrupted save can leave one field saved; the error makes this explicit.
Author setup does not change SSH keys or hosting credentials. Existing commits keep their authorship, and cherry-pick/rebase normally preserve the original author.
Download and update
Download RepoDeck.dmg or RepoDeck-1.11.0.dmg below; they contain the same universal application for Apple silicon and Intel, requiring macOS 15 or newer. The versioned SHA-256 file verifies the versioned installer.
Quit the running RepoDeck app, open the disk image, drag RepoDeck to Applications, and reopen it. The app reports 1.11.0 (build 14).
The standard distribution is ad-hoc signed and not notarized. After verifying a trusted download and its checksum and attempting to open it, macOS may require System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway. Follow Apple’s app-specific instructions.
Verification
- Release workflow: 389 tests across 28 suites passed on each native architecture, plus builds, shell checks, and release/resource regressions. Every stage checked the same existing version tag and source commit.
- Built with Xcode 26.3 / Swift 6.2.4. The downloaded app reports 1.11.0 / build 14, includes arm64 and x86_64, and passes strict ad-hoc signature verification.
- Downloaded installer checksum and disk-image integrity checks passed. The versioned and stable-name installers are identical. Read-only mounting verified the application metadata, icon, and Applications link.
- SHA-256 for both DMG assets:
ed352820b0a7573613ac9b4362986190771c9c7cccf30dbb94bf3499e069999c. - Isolated development UI checks exercised the diff crash transitions, error and bulk-result presentation, offline Help, author setup/overrides, and a readable 220-point sidebar.
Clean-machine installation/first launch, the full keyboard/VoiceOver/appearance matrix, and live GitHub/GitLab write permissions remain outstanding manual checks. These are documented validation limits, not completed checks. See TESTING.md for the development evidence and the README for usage.
