Accessible IPTV Client for Android 0.2.10
Playback can start with half a second buffered instead of two seconds, reducing the wait when opening a channel. Hardware testing confirmed the faster start.
Live playback still builds the 25-second cushion during playback for every provider, with the existing 30-second default maximum. Recovery after a stall still waits for the full cushion. Provider connection delays and video keyframes can still affect startup.
Verified: all 142 Android unit and Robolectric tests passed; debug and signed release APKs built successfully. This APK uses the owner's existing signing key for in-app updates.
Accessible IPTV Client for Android 0.2.9
Live playback still starts with two seconds buffered, then builds a 25-second cushion while playing at 0.95 speed, with pitch preserved. This applies to every provider. Normal speed returns once the cushion is full.
The default maximum is now 30 seconds, allowing the existing one-second increase after each stall. Saved historical defaults of 6 or 10 seconds upgrade to 25, and the old 18-second maximum upgrades to 30. Other custom values are retained, with the maximum kept at least as large as the cushion.
Verified: all 142 Android unit and Robolectric tests passed; debug and signed release APKs built successfully. The release uses the same signing key as earlier versions for in-app updates.
At a real-time delivery rate, growing from 2 to 25 seconds at 0.95 speed takes about 7 minutes 40 seconds of uninterrupted delivery. Gaps before the cushion is full, or longer than the cushion, can still cause buffering.
Accessible IPTV Client for Android 0.2.8
- Live channels start fast: playback begins after about 2 seconds, then plays 5% slower (the pitch does not change) until a 10-second cushion is built, then normal speed. Provider pauses on SceneTime and IPTVCanada no longer cut in.
- The cushion is the Buffer setting under Playback, now 10 seconds by default.
- Search on the keyboard closes the keyboard and shows the results at once.
Accessible IPTV Client for Android 0.2.6
- From the desktop app: recordings in progress are listed first, each with Stop. Previous channel, Recently watched and Go to channel number are under More; on a remote, the number keys jump to a channel.
- Scheduled recordings run 2 minutes past the end; both paddings are in Settings. A recording rides out network drops, and a catch-up download that ends early is fetched again.
- A dropped live stream reconnects by itself.
- Subtitles show under the video and are spoken. The player says when the programme changes; Settings > Announcements sets how much it says.
- Export and import settings, playlists and favourites as one file.
- 14 languages, the same as the desktop. Android 13+: Settings > Language.
- Fixed: favourites on M3U playlists could move to the wrong channel; a failed guide download wiped the guide; Now and Next could read the same show; scheduled recordings could fail to start on Android 14+; long recording days stopped on Android 15; recording notifications never showed on Android 13+; Help was read as one heading; channels needing a user agent failed; playlists' own guides were ignored.
Accessible IPTV Client for Android 0.2.5
- Buffering now works exactly like the desktop app: it builds a 6-second cushion before playing, and after any stall it adds a second, up to 18 seconds. Both are in Settings, under Playback.
- Tested on a 2 GB Android TV: 10 minutes of a real-time stream with no buffering.
Accessible IPTV Client for Android 0.2.4
- The guide now loads on low-memory Android TVs (2 GB) instead of the app being closed by the system. It also loads faster.
- The guide reloads by itself if it ever goes missing.
- On a TV remote, leaving full screen puts you back on Full screen instead of Pause.
- Buttons show a clear focus outline for remote and keyboard users.
Accessible IPTV Client for Android 0.2.3
- Channels that only played sound now show video too (KitBoga and other re-encoded streams).
- Much less buffering on live channels.
- The player buttons are no longer hidden under the navigation bar or taskbar, and screens no longer start under the status bar.
Accessible IPTV Client for Android 0.2.2
- The guide loads silently in the background. Only a failure is announced. More, Refresh guide still says when it is done.
Accessible IPTV Client for Android 0.2.1
- Playlists refresh on their own when the saved copy is more than 12 hours old, so new and removed channels show up without a manual refresh.
- One search result now reads "1 result".
