Nine games now: doom, a first-person corridor shooter above the prompt.

doom

A limited copy, not a port — no WAD file, no id Software art or levels, no sectors, no sound, no saves. A raycaster drawn one ray per terminal column and two pixels a row, using each cell as a half block, in whatever space the band gives it.

  • Four floors with monsters, pickups, a red key, a locked door and an exit switch. They cycle, so you play until you die and the score is the kills. Every floor opens looking down the route to its door.
  • Three monsters — imps chase, claw and throw fireballs; demons are faster and tougher and only bite; zombies shoot from a distance. Three weapons — pistol, shotgun, chaingun, on separate ammo pools; a gun that clicks empty switches itself to one that has not.
  • /arcade colorblind swaps in a palette spread along brightness as well as hue, and marks the door and the exit switch with a pattern each. Eleven pairs you have to tell apart are checked against simulated protanopia, deuteranopia and tritanopia; the normal palette loses four of them. Remembered between sessions.

Every floor is played to its exit by a bot in the tests, twice over: once with the damage off, which says the floor can be finished at all, and once with it on at a human press rate, which says someone can finish it.

Also in this release: grid() takes a per-row run cap, since a raycast row emits a span per colour change and the engine rejects a tree over 2000 nodes; and CI gained oxlint, which needs no config file and no package.json.

Update the plugin to get it: claude plugin update cc-arcade, then /arcade doom.

Games above the Claude Code prompt, for the minutes Claude spends working. Playing costs no tokens: the plugin answers every click and command itself, without asking the model.

  • One command: /arcade opens a picker; /arcade <game>, list, random, auto and stop also work.
  • Eight games: snake, Tetris, 2048, Minesweeper, Flappy, Pong against the computer, a typing test and Space Invaders.
  • The open game pauses with a "Claude is done" banner when a turn finishes, so you never miss a reply.
  • A pet grows from Claude's tool calls: passing and failing test runs, commits and edits. It keeps counters only, stores no command text, and makes no network calls.
  • Best scores persist per game.

Needs Claude Code 2.1.269 or later with CLAUDE_CODE_ENABLE_FUNCTION_HOOKS=1 (function hooks are early access), an interactive terminal, and a terminal that reports the mouse.
