ShadowDroid v2.0.3
The first ShadowDroid 2 release: the whole Android development loop for your agent, with no IDE in the middle.
- Apply Changes:
app applyputs each code edit on the running app, usually in place in about two seconds with state kept. - Own debuggers: Kotlin and Java over JDWP, C and C++ over the NDK's LLDB, without Android Studio.
- ShadowDroid runtime: layout trees, Compose recomposition counts and coroutine dumps from any debuggable app, with no build changes.
- Plugins: Claude Code and Codex plugins, with a live device viewer, annotations and tap-to-test recording.
- Agent experience: compact output (48% faster, 34% fewer tokens in our benchmark), occlusion-aware taps,
ui wait --stable,ui audit --a11y. - Windows support for the CLI, debuggers, runtime and viewer.
- Security: the proxy verifies upstream TLS by default, and local control channels are authenticated.
Breaking: the Android Studio integration and the in-app AAR are removed; ShadowDroid moved to the shadowdroid-dev organization (old URLs redirect) and ships as binaries only.
Known issues: native debugging on macOS needs NDK 30 or newer; native crash stops on arm64 emulators may show ART's fault hook instead of the faulting line.
Full details are in the changelog.
Install: brew install shadowdroid-dev/tap/shadowdroid, or see shadowdroid.dev. Update: run shadowdroid update.
