New: usable from AI agents

  • mpltweak describe <script> — export the current layout as params JSON, without opening a window
  • mpltweak check <script> — geometric layout check: alignment / equal size / even gaps / font consistency / overflow / overlap (exit 1 on problems, CI friendly)
  • mpltweak schema — JSON Schema (draft-07) for the params file
  • mpltweak apply --json — machine-readable results; chatter goes to stderr
  • mpltweak mcp — stdio MCP server for Claude Desktop / Cursor / Claude Code

Read → check → write is now a complete loop: an agent no longer needs to "see" the figure.

Fixes

  • Script stdout is isolated while collecting (a print in your script used to corrupt the MCP JSON-RPC channel)
  • figsize_in no longer assumes 100 dpi
  • check column grouping is no longer order-sensitive
