New release: 2026.07.23.1

Changes:

• Ableton Link support is now built in: Live syncs tempo, beat and phase with apps and devices on your network
• A small native helper anchors the Link session on your machine, so the shared tempo survives Live restarts
• Native Linux apps such as Bitwig, Ardour and SuperCollider join the same session
• One command sets up the networking, keeps it across reboots, and starts the anchor at login: sudo ~/.local/share/ableton-wine/setup-link.sh
• Nobody has to build the jack_link bridge by hand any more
• Display scaling is now auto-detected on COSMIC, System76's desktop (thanks @ClickSentinel!)

Link needs a router that forwards multicast, and it never works over a VPN. If Link misbehaves on your network, run ~/.local/share/ableton-wine/ableton-linkd --probe 10 and open an issue with what it prints.

Install:

1. Download https://github.com/shibco/ableton-linux/releases/latest/download/install-ableton-latest.run
2. Put your Ableton Live zip from ableton.com next to it.
3. Run: sh install-ableton-latest.run

Update an existing install:

1. Download https://github.com/shibco/ableton-linux/releases/latest/download/install-ableton-latest.run
2. Run sh install-ableton-latest.run --update
3. There is no step 3 ❤️
