Player

• The track dialog becomes a right-hand panel, so the video keeps playing
  behind it — L / R step the speed, or the subtitle delay while it is open

Stremio lists

• Three list styles, in Options → List style: Posters (the new default,
  horizontal strips of upright cards), Cards (poster beside a panel with
  the title, the episode or the year, the position and a progress bar) and
  Classic (the old row)
• Sections: Continue watching, Popular, Featured, Library — Featured being
  Cinemeta's second catalog
• Catalog sections show 15 titles and put the rest behind See More, which
  opens the whole section full screen; Movies and Shows come up far faster
  for it

Local torrents & magnets

• Add magnet links in the Local tab (a magnet.txt file, or the "Add magnet"

• A magnet's name and files resolve in the background and are cached, so you can
  pick which video to stream

• Fixed the recurring freeze where the video froze for ~15s while audio kept
  playing
• Control lock (Y): locks buttons and touch for the session
• New centre play/pause button; tap to show/hide controls, which auto-hide while

NX Torrent Player 0.1.1

RAM streaming — no more per-piece stutter. Verified pieces now stay in RAM instead of being written to the SD card. That SD write was what hitched playback every time a piece finished (worse the bigger the piece) — streaming from RAM removes it. On by default (Options → Playback → Stream to RAM). No persistence between sessions, and seeking far back re-downloads.

• "Smooth download rate" → "Limit download rate", now off by default (it only caps speed once buffered; it never caused the stutter).
• Category bar defaults to top.

NX Torrent Player 0.1.0

First release.

A homebrew video player for the Nintendo Switch with a built-in BitTorrent engine: it streams torrents instead of downloading them first, and playback starts after a few seconds of buffer. Sign in to a Stremio account to browse your library and addons.

Install

Drop NX-torrent-player.nro into the switch/ folder of your SD card and launch it from the Homebrew Menu. Requires a Switch running custom firmware (Atmosphère).
