First release carrying the Homebrew cask era's in-app upgrade path (PRD-006):

Upgrade Now

  • Cask installs whose running bundle is the brew-managed app get a one-click upgrade: the app refreshes Homebrew, gates on brew outdated --cask, then a detached script upgrades and relaunches automatically. Failed attempts surface on next launch; every failure degrades to copy-command fallbacks.
  • Dev builds and non-cask installs keep copy-command / download guidance.

Update alert

  • Update-available alert is install-aware: Homebrew guidance vs Download DMG / Open Release Page (PR #38).

Release engineering

  • TAILROUTE_BUILD_NUMBER override keeps build numbers monotonic across branch-cut releases (0.8.16 shipped build 255 from its release branch; main's count had gone backwards).
  • Manifest URLs point at the public app releases on this repo; the tap cask bump now merges before the manifest push so the upgrade gate never lags the announcement.
