Khala 0.3.0
First public release.
Khala is self-hosted, shared long-term memory for the AI agents you and your team use. Memories are Markdown files in a Git repository; every agent reaches them through one remote MCP server and sees only what its person may see.
- Scopes, grants and agents: records belong to scopes shared as viewer, editor or maintainer; each connected client is an agent with its own ceiling, which can be revoked or have its changes undone.
- Notes first: agents leave notes; any agent consolidates them into proposals a person approves.
- Sign-in without passwords: passkeys, TOTP and recovery codes; OAuth 2.1 with client ID metadata documents and dynamic registration, device authorization for command lines.
- Connect any client: a web wizard and
khala connectknow install links, commands and config files for Claude, Claude Code, ChatGPT, Codex, Cursor, VS Code, Gemini CLI, Zed, goose, Hermes and more;khala bridgefor stdio-only clients. - Run it anywhere:
pipx install khala && khala init --admin you@example.com && khala serve, Docker Compose with Caddy, or the systemd scripts indeploy/.
