Release list
Shuttle 0.1.4
Shuttle 0.1.4, based on Chromium 155.0.8059.80 (was 154.0.8037.129). This release moves Shuttle to the current
Chromium stable release, with its security fixes. Agents, the MCP server and CDP work as in 0.1.3.
Changed
- Chromium 155. Web platform, rendering and security fixes from upstream Chromium 155 stable.
- Fewer Google features shipped. Services Chromium 155 added that Shuttle doesn't use are left out: Chrome's own
agent actuation service (Shuttle agents use CDP/MCP), Gemini critical-action records and links on the history page,
and synced tab context. Journeys (history grouping that needs Google sync) is removed too; your history stays as
it is.

Updating: Linux with the package repository: sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade / sudo dnf upgrade. macOS: run the
installer again (quit Shuttle first) or replace the app. Package files and the tarball: install or extract over the old
version. Your agents, their logins and your profile stay where they are.
Get started: https://www.shuttlebrowser.com/download. Or ask your agent: "Read https://www.shuttlebrowser.com/INSTALL.md
and help me set up Shuttle."
Known limits
- macOS has no auto-update yet: run the installer again for new releases.
- By default the CDP/MCP port is localhost only, with no authentication (web pages are rejected by Origin/Host checks).
Network mode requires a token for remote clients; traffic is plain HTTP, so use trusted networks or Tailscale/SSH. - Linux tarball only: install two libraries first (
sudo apt install libnss3 libasound2t64; Ubuntu 22.04/Debian 12:
libasound2; Fedora:sudo dnf install nss alsa-lib). On Ubuntu 23.10+ (not WSL2) the tarball needs the bundled
chrome-sandboxsetuid helper (see README-LINUX.txt). The packages handle both. - Open codecs only: H.264-only video won't play, and there's no Widevine.
- English UI only. macOS builds are arm64 only for now.

Shuttle 0.1.3
Shuttle 0.1.3, based on Chromium 154.0.8037.129. Shuttle on Linux and Windows (WSL2) now behaves like a desktop app,
and the installer can start it for you.
New
- Linux: starting Shuttle yourself opens
chrome://agents. From the app menu orshuttlein a terminal, you get a
window with your agents, their sessions and the quick start. A second launch focuses that tab instead of opening
another. Agents, scripts and Puppeteer (no terminal) still start it without a window. The menu entry's "New Window"
action opens a normal window. - Windows (WSL2): Shuttle's own window frame, and it follows Windows dark mode. Before, WSLg drew a light title bar
that ignored dark mode, and the window could reach behind the taskbar. Your own Light/Dark choice in Shuttle still wins. - Installer: "Start Shuttle now?"
curl -fsSL https://get.shuttlebrowser.com | bashasks at the end and opens
chrome://agents. Without a terminal (CI, agents) it doesn't ask and doesn't start Shuttle;SHUTTLE_LAUNCH=yes|no
decides for you.
Fixed
- Linux: closing the last window no longer stops agents mid-task. While an agent session is open, Shuttle (and its
MCP server) keeps running without a window; closing the session then quits it. Menu Exit andchrome://quitstill
quit right away.

Shuttle 0.1.2
Shuttle 0.1.2, based on Chromium 154.0.8037.129. Adds Linux packages and fixes slow background work after startup.
New
- Linux packages:
.deb(Ubuntu/Debian) and.rpm(Fedora). They install Shuttle to/opt/shuttlewith a
shuttlecommand, a desktop entry and icons, and pull in the libraries Shuttle needs, so the
"libnspr4.so: cannot open shared object file" startup error can't happen. The tarball is still available.
Fixed
- Background work stalled for about 3 minutes after launch. Shuttle opens no window at startup, so the browser
never saw a visible tab finish loading and treated startup as unfinished until a 3-minute failsafe ran out. Until
then, low-priority tasks waited; for example, the first delete-agent call could take about 180 s. Startup now
completes about 5 s after launch.

Shuttle 0.1.1
Shuttle 0.1.1, based on Chromium 154.0.8037.129. A bug-fix release; please update.
Fixed
- Crash when an agent watches for new targets and a page starts a worker. A per-session CDP client with
Target.setDiscoverTargets(Playwright and agent-browser both use it) could crash the whole browser when a page
started a shared worker or a service worker (seen on reddit.com). The session filter took a temporary reference to
the half-constructed worker host, which freed it. It now looks the target up without taking a reference.

Shuttle 0.1.0
Shuttle 0.1.0, based on Chromium 154.0.8037.129. The first public release.
Shuttle is a Chromium fork built for AI agents: every agent gets its own logged-in identity and its own tab group in
your browser, and the MCP server is built in.
Highlights
- Built-in MCP server at
http://127.0.0.1:9222/mcp(Streamable HTTP): agents, sessions, tabs and 24 page tools. - Agents with a name, color and avatar, and their own persistent storage (logins survive restarts).
- Sessions are tab groups in your window. You can hand a tab to an agent or take it back.
chrome://agentsmanages everything. - Per-session CDP endpoints for Playwright (
connectOverCDP) and agent-browser, scoped to the session's tabs. - No remote-debugging prompt, no automation infobar,
navigator.webdriveris false, and no window at startup. - Network mode: run Shuttle on a dedicated machine and share it over your LAN or Tailscale
(--shuttle-listen=0.0.0.0; remote clients need the access token fromShuttleAccessToken). - Google services, sign-in, sync, telemetry, Google AI features, translate, the password manager and the side panel
have been removed.
