Category guessing
Kostos now guesses the category for a new expense from what you type. If your group always files "Joeys" under Drinks, then "Joeys", "Beer at joeys", and "joeys with friends" all land on Drinks before anyone touches the picker.
It learns only from your group's own past expenses, so it speaks your group's shorthand and knows your regular spots instead of guessing from a generic list. Everything happens on your device. Nothing new is sent anywhere or stored.
What to expect
- A guessed category carries a small
guessedtag, so you can tell it apart from your own pick. - Choose a category yourself and it stops suggesting for that expense; it never overwrites you.
- Editing an expense that already has a category leaves it alone. It only fills in the blanks.
- A brand-new group sees nothing until there's enough history to be useful, and the field stays empty when
a description is genuinely ambiguous rather than guessing wrong.
No setup and no new permissions. It works in every group automatically, and it gets sharper the more you log.
