Ferry `v0.9.0-beta.86`

Use Codex CLI, Claude Code, or OpenCode in Ferry chat, CLI, and Gateway. Native chat and Gateway are separate opt-ins. Native tools use Ferry permissions; Gateway returns calls to the API client for execution and results. Auto routes free-first; Included capacity requires explicit profile opt-in.

Compact verification icons, roomier model tables and picker, last-reply logos, conversation usage, and managed profiles make browsing clearer. Cached CLI inventory refreshes in the background.

Get started

Install your CLI and sign in where required. Anonymous Zen access needs no saved key.
In Ferry, open Models → Providers → Installed CLIs, select Refresh, then verify a discovered model.
Enable native chat, Gateway, or both. In chat, choose Included subscriptions or All connected and select a model and supported options.
For Gateway, create a Ferry key and copy the local endpoint and key to your API client.

Zen provides a separate explicit check for a real Zen model. A detected Go credential can be offered for that check; finding it does not prove Zen access. opencode-cli/opencode/big-pickle passed anonymous native and Gateway tool rounds in the tested environment; this does not prove access to other models or accounts.

CLI transports support text and caller tools; unsupported images, structured output, and controls are rejected. Fast/priority is unavailable when Ferry cannot bound its separate charge with a known-price reservation. Ferry uses the current CLI account and does not import its previous conversations. Unavailable quota stays unknown; missing usage is not filled with zero. Free, unlimited, or failure-free access is not guaranteed.

Validation

The 67-task gate passed: Core 584 tests in 64 files, Desktop 249, CLI 179, Workspace 141 with one baseline skip, and root 12. Installer/update/CLI/uninstall/portable smoke passed 10 checks. UI passed 708 screens and 12 keyboard journeys. Live checks passed for all three CLIs, separate from CI.

This beta fixes the local-engine stalls reported in beta.82 when Ferry has a large provider/model catalog.

Provider and OAuth lists, model browsing, Gateway and Profiles load promptly again.
Gateway routing and quota calculations reuse catalog/provider data, avoiding runaway CPU and memory use.
Saved chats display their loading state and transcript correctly; failed chat/Profile reads offer Retry.
Timed-out or disconnected local reads no longer queue duplicate automatic retries.

Install over your existing Ferry version. Existing conversations, provider keys and settings are preserved; no database migration or key reset is required.

Validated locally with the full workspace checks and the native Windows app against an existing large catalog. The automated release also runs the UI, packaged-app, CLI and install/upgrade checks.
