First release of SideCall — a call-guard for the Sidephone SP-01.

The SP-01 ships without a working proximity sensor, which causes two bugs SideCall fixes:

  • Your cheek presses the buttons on an earpiece call. SideCall darkens the screen so nothing your face touches reaches a button; drag the ring three-quarters around to unlock.
  • The microphone dies when the screen sleeps. SideCall holds the screen awake for the whole call so the mic never drops.

It's a single overlay over the stock dialer — never the dialer itself, and it never touches your call. Validated on real earpiece, speaker, and Bluetooth calls.

Install: download app-release.apk below and sideload it (adb install -r app-release.apk), then open SideCall once and grant the two permissions. Requires Android 12 (API 31).
