SilverShadow PokéRogue Offline v1.0.3

This release combines the updated SilverShadow Android APK with the first public Nintendo Switch homebrew Alpha.

Important

This is an unofficial fan-made PokéRogue Offline fork. Back up your user data and active session before updating or moving between builds.

Downloads

  • Android: Download the .apk release asset.
  • Nintendo Switch: Download SilverShadow-PokeRogue-v1.0.3-switch.zip.

Both versions include the shared SilverShadow offline settings, cheats, branding, and quality-of-life improvements.

Android

New and expanded sandbox options

Open Settings → Offline to configure the sandbox options. They default to normal gameplay values and generally require a reload after being changed.

Rewards and economy

  • Free Shop Items — Purchasable shop items cost zero.
  • Free Rerolls — Normal and locked reward rerolls cost zero.
  • Free Egg Gacha Pulls — Pulls do not consume vouchers or tokens.
  • Guaranteed Capture — Every valid Poké Ball throw captures the target while still consuming one ball.
  • Reward Claim Mode
    • Default: Normal single-reward selection.
    • Claim All: Each generated reward slot can be claimed once.
    • Infinite: Eligible rewards remain selectable until their stack, uniqueness, Poké Ball capacity, or target-eligibility limit is reached.
  • Max Luck (SSS) — Sets effective party luck to 14.
  • Pokémon Candy Multiplier — Default, 2x, 5x, 10x, 50x, or 100x species-candy awards.
  • Candy Costs
    • Default: Normal costs.
    • Rebalanced: 25% of normal costs, rounded up.
    • Free: Zero-cost passives, point reductions, and same-species eggs.

Starter customization

  • 60 Starter Points — Raises the starter selection limit to 60 points.
  • Allow Duplicate Starters — Allows up to six independently configured copies of the same species when challenge and point rules permit.
  • Duplicate starters retain separate moves, gender, nature, ability, form, shiny variant, Tera type, and passive selection.
  • All Starters Have Pokérus — Gives every selected starter record Pokérus, including duplicate copies.
  • Starting Level — Select Default or levels 10 through 100 in increments of 10.
  • Unlock Starter on Select — Press Action on a locked starter to grant the minimum ownership data required to select it.

Warning

Unlock Starter on Select permanently modifies save data. Disabling the setting does not remove starters previously unlocked with it. Export a backup before using it.

Pokémon, eggs, and items

  • Shiny Rate — Select 1x, 2x, 4x, 8x, 10x, 20x, or 100x for normal generated player and wild Pokémon shiny rolls.
  • Always Shiny — Forces shiny status for newly generated Pokémon using the normal shiny-roll path.
  • Rare Eggs — Changes base egg-tier weighting to 12.5% Common, 25% Rare, 25% Epic, and 37.5% Legendary before normal machine offsets and guarantees.
  • Instant Hatch — Makes eligible eggs enter the normal hatch flow at the next egg-lapse opportunity.
  • Form Change Items
    • Default: Normal reward pools.
    • Rebalanced: Moderately improves access to form-change items and prerequisites.
    • Abundant: Adds very high-weight Common-tier access while preserving normal eligibility rules.

Shiny Rate and Always Shiny do not retroactively modify existing Pokémon and do not replace the separate egg shiny-roll system.

Battle debugging

  • Infinite Player HP — Player field slots take zero actual damage while attacks and effects continue through normal resolution.
  • Infinite Player PP — Prevents move use, Pressure, Grudge, and PP-removing moves from lowering the player party’s PP.
  • Player OHKO — Amplifies the first successful hit while preserving misses, immunities, protection, substitutes, Endure/Sturdy behavior, boss shields, and scripted boss limits.

Infinite Player HP covers direct attacks, confusion, recoil, drain, status and weather damage, Perish Song, OHKO moves, and self-damage. It prevents new damage but does not restore HP already missing.

Player OHKO stops cheat-added boss damage at the current shield and normally leaves final-bar bosses at 1 HP unless the move’s original damage was naturally lethal. This preserves catch opportunities and scripted transitions.

Android stability and quality-of-life improvements

  • Removed the experimental Fast Reward UI option. Rewards use the normal interface and animation flow for improved stability.
  • Stabilized duplicate-starter navigation, removal, customization, and per-copy passive state.
  • Replaced the allocation-heavy 5,000-entry “Pandemic” behavior with deterministic All Starters Have Pokérus.
  • Added touchscreen forward and reverse tab-navigation fixes.
  • Added controller LB and RB navigation fixes for Offline settings.
  • Touch controls automatically fade after two seconds without touch input and reappear when touched.
  • Music pauses when Android is locked or backgrounded and resumes when the app returns to the foreground.
  • Improved mobile save import and export behavior.
  • Added a read-only Gacha Calendar using PokéRogue’s Legendary Gacha calculations.
  • Added release update notifications that fail silently while offline.
  • Added SilverShadow branding, build information, icons, and Android package identity.
  • Removed Google OAuth and Google Drive integration while preserving local saves and manual import/export.
  • Improved Offline-focused menus, labels, Community links, and update information.

Android installation

The main APK uses:

com.silvershadow.pkr

Install it over an existing compatible SilverShadow main build to retain its application storage.

Android stores separate data for the SilverShadow main build, development build, original PokéRogue Offline, and other forks. Saves do not transfer automatically between package IDs.

Before updating:

  1. Export your user data.
  2. Export your active session.
  3. Install the new APK.
  4. Confirm that your save and active run load correctly before uninstalling an older application.

Nintendo Switch Alpha

This is the first public Nintendo Switch release of SilverShadow PokéRogue Offline.

Warning

The Switch version is an experimental Alpha. Normal gameplay has worked well enough during current hardware testing, but long sessions, many consecutive battles, every controller configuration, and all game content have not been exhaustively tested.

Switch package architecture

The package includes:

  • A fat, self-contained nx.js NRO.
  • The custom SilverShadow Homebrew Menu icon.
  • The complete offline game payload.
  • Local manifest and checksum validation.
  • Timestamped diagnostic logging.
  • Four uncompressed random-access .sspack asset containers.

The previous deployment contained approximately 34,000 individual files. The new release contains approximately 15 deployment files.

Static assets are divided into:

  • assets-audio.sspack — BGM, sound effects, cries, and animation audio.
  • assets-graphics.sspack — Pokémon sprites, UI images, arenas, effects, events, and video.
  • assets-animations.sspack — Battle-animation data.
  • assets-support.sspack — Fonts, bitmap-font data, locales, stable JSON, logos, and web-manifest resources.

The packs remain on the SD card and are accessed through validated byte-range reads. They are not loaded entirely into memory and should not be extracted.

Hardware-tested Switch behavior

The following has been observed on a Nintendo Switch OLED using title-override/application-memory mode:

  • The NRO appears in hbmenu with the SilverShadow icon and launches.
  • Offline manifest, checksum, required-file, and asset-pack validation completes.
  • The title screen, starter selection, Pokédex, party screen, battles, rewards, and menus render.
  • Phaser WebGL output scales correctly from 1920×1080 to the 1280×720 handheld screen.
  • Regular and bitmap fonts render readably.
  • Attached-controller D-pad navigation works.
  • Nintendo A and B behavior works with the built-in Pro Controller mapping.
  • PLUS-menu access works in tested ordinary scenes, although it is not considered completely stable.
  • Pokémon can be selected, caught, viewed in the Pokédex, and retained after fully closing and relaunching.
  • Save and Quit followed by Continue works in tested sessions.
  • BGM playback and looping work during tested battles and reward screens.
  • Immediate and targeted rewards, including Rare Candy and PP Up return paths, work.
  • SilverShadow Offline settings and cheats have worked in tested sessions.
  • Sprites, animations, fonts, locales, audio, and game data load directly from the four asset packs.

These observations apply only to tested hardware and are not guarantees for every console, firmware, controller arrangement, move, Pokémon form, or session length.

Switch requirements

  • A homebrew-capable Nintendo Switch with Atmosphère and hbmenu.
  • At least 1 GB of free SD-card space.
  • Title-override/application-memory mode.
  • A backup of existing SilverShadow Switch saves.

Do not launch through Album/applet mode. Applet mode does not provide enough memory.

Switch installation

  1. Download SilverShadow-PokeRogue-v1.0.3-switch.zip.

  2. Back up these directories if they already exist:

    /switch/SilverShadow-PokeRogue/saves/
    /switch/SilverShadow-PokeRogue/config/
    /switch/SilverShadow-PokeRogue/logs/

  3. Extract the ZIP directly to the SD-card root.

  4. Confirm that the final NRO path is:

    /switch/SilverShadow-PokeRogue/SilverShadow-PokeRogue.nro

  5. Preserve existing saves, config, and logs directories when updating.

  6. Hold R while launching an installed Switch title to enter hbmenu using title override.

  7. Launch SilverShadow PokeRogue.

  8. Allow at least 60 seconds for the first visible screen.

The NRO already contains the nx.js runtime. No separate runtime NRO, NSP forwarder, network connection, or extraction of the .sspack files is required.

Updating from the former loose-asset build

After copying the new package successfully, remove only these obsolete directories:

/switch/SilverShadow-PokeRogue/game/assets/
/switch/SilverShadow-PokeRogue/game/audio/
/switch/SilverShadow-PokeRogue/game/battle-anims/
/switch/SilverShadow-PokeRogue/game/fonts/
/switch/SilverShadow-PokeRogue/game/images/
/switch/SilverShadow-PokeRogue/game/locales/

Never delete the complete /switch/SilverShadow-PokeRogue/ directory during migration.

Switch loading behavior

  • Cold startup can remain black for approximately 35–45 seconds.
  • Some launches have exceeded 40 seconds and appeared frozen while still loading.
  • Returning to the main menu performs a similar refresh and can again appear frozen for roughly 40 seconds.
  • Smaller loading hiccups can occur while assets are read or decoded.
  • Wait at least 60 seconds before assuming a black loading screen has failed.

Switch memory and stability warning

Normal gameplay has been smooth enough during tested sessions, but many consecutive battles and very long sessions have not been comprehensively stress-tested.

Extreme reward-cheat use can exhaust native memory. Repeated Infinite rewards, free rerolls, Claim All Rewards, or generating and claiming many reward sets without leaving the reward phase may cause:

  • Further rerolls to be blocked by the memory guard.
  • Severe slowdown.
  • A native homebrew crash.

The build includes a reward memory guard and reuses reward-interface objects to reduce pressure, but unlimited reward stress is not safe. Save, fully close, and relaunch if sustained slowdown develops.

Known Switch Alpha limitations

  • Occasional loading stalls or native crashes may still occur.
  • Some move effects can display Phaser’s missing-texture placeholder or another visual irregularity.
  • PLUS behavior has not been proven safe in every battle and menu state.
  • Suspend/resume, sleep/wake, docked mode, detached Joy-Con, controller reconnection, and long-session audio behavior are not exhaustively tested.
  • Complete sound-effect and Pokémon-cry coverage has not been verified.
  • Some on-screen prompts still use keyboard or Xbox-style artwork.
  • Intentionally blocked network requests may appear as noisy errors in the diagnostic log without preventing gameplay.
  • A post-startup fatal error may leave the screen black; the timestamped log remains authoritative.

Each launch creates a diagnostic log at:

/switch/SilverShadow-PokeRogue/logs/milestone2-YYYYMMDDTHHMMSSmmmZ.log

When reporting a problem, provide the newest complete log, a photo of any error screen, what happened immediately before the problem, and whether title override was used.
