AF File Manager 0.41.2

AF File Manager 0.41.2 adds browser-based Nextcloud sign-in, direct phone groups with up to ten members, Wi-Fi Direct pairing, and more resilient large phone-to-phone transfers.

Cloudflare Quick Tunnel is built into AF File Manager and needs no separate app or Cloudflare account. This corrective release routes the tunnel to the active AF Web interface so its public address reaches the protected one-time-code sign-in page.

Recent files now separate added and opened activity, dialog and popup scaling follows the selected interface scale more consistently, cleanup handles larger selections without rescanning, and protected media previews work through Root and Shizuku staging.

Create files and folders on remote connections with the familiar local flow. Rename or remove saved cloud and document locations without deleting their files. Back navigation now follows the current folder in protected storage, document-provider locations and Trash.

Adjust the interface scale from 75% to 125%. Transfer details show speed and an estimated time when enough data is available. Nearby transfer details offer list or grid views, and large Android-picked files can stream without an extra cached copy.

Animated GIF and WebP previews play on Android 9+. APK, APKS, APKM and XAPK contents can be browsed as read-only folders; app packages are not edited or re-signed.

• Search can optionally match file extensions or text inside bounded text and code files. Ordinary name searches remain lightweight.
• Files can be deleted from the preview menu after confirmation across local storage, Trash, document providers, remote connections and protected storage.
• Preview deletion now shows the selected file and its real size in the confirmation summary.
• Cleanup lists can select every empty folder and use the same temporary fast scroller as other long lists.

AF File Manager 0.36.0

AF File Manager 0.36.0 fixes the critical Trash storage issue reported in #200.

• Empty trash now removes interrupted copies, orphaned payloads and damaged metadata that could stay hidden while continuing to occupy app data.
• The cleanup action remains available when the visible Trash list is empty but stored Trash data is still present.
• Trash moves, restores and permanent deletion are serialized so cleanup cannot catch a file halfway through another Trash operation.
• Hold a word directly on a PDF page to select it, extend the selection with either handle and copy it. Pinch zoom now keeps the content between your fingers in focus.
• Long names no longer push Trash grid actions out of alignment.

AF File Manager 0.35.0 makes browsing, file operations and phone-to-phone sharing more consistent.

• Wallpapers, card transparency and custom colors now carry through file browsers, Quick locations, Trash and other AF windows. Menus and controls can use their own colors without changing the card color you chose.
• You can add more files while a phone-to-phone transfer is running, send files in either direction and reopen the shared transfer list. Paired phones can also exchange short session-only messages that disappear after disconnecting.
• Copy, move and delete operations have a clearer progress window with the current item, known totals, Cancel and Hide. Hidden work continues through an Android notification, and delete confirmations show what is about to be removed.
• Long lists and grids now have a draggable side scroller across local storage, remote servers, document providers, protected storage, Trash and archives.
• APK, APKS, APKM and XAPK files show useful app, version, Android API and processor information before Android opens its installer. Installed-app details can open that app's Android settings directly.
• AF-owned confirmation windows now share the same adaptive layout and keep their actions usable with longer translations and larger text.

AF File Manager 0.34.0

• Copying keeps the originals. Cut and paste removes a source only after its destination has been checked; skipped files and files changed during the operation stay at the source. Interrupted operations recover more safely, and a file created at the destination during copying or Save as is no longer silently overwritten.
• Web, FTP, WebDAV and phone-to-phone receiving now remember their own folders.
• Send another batch, or send files back, without pairing the phones again during the active session. Each transfer still starts only after choosing files and pressing Start.
• Upload uses the same roomy file picker as the rest of AF. Opening storage no longer stacks two dialogs on top of each other.
• Choose a private wallpaper from your gallery and adjust card transparency. Aura and Tokyo use more consistent colors, and dark-theme headings remain readable over a wallpaper. Several German home labels were corrected.
• Compatible APKS, APKM and XAPK bundles can show their app icon, open Android's installer for selected original parts, or extract those parts to a folder you choose. AF does not merge or re-sign apps, and extra OBB data is not installed automatically.
• Photo, music and video details live in the preview menu. Swipe an unzoomed photo left or right to change images, or swipe music artwork down to keep playing in the background. Video controls hide after seven seconds of inactivity; tap to bring them back, or swipe the edges to adjust volume and this window's brightness.
• The mini-player shows artwork, a progress ring and previous/next controls for supported local queues. Hold play/pause to stop playback, or use the visible Stop button. The controls wrap on narrow screens and with larger text.
• Fixed Filipino language selection and improved large-text headings, navigation labels and language settings on phones and tablets.

What's new

• Background playback now has pause, resume and stop buttons inside AF, including after you close the preview. You can also control it from Android's media notification.
• Other apps can open AF's file picker. It supports single or multiple files, file-type filters and AF's app lock. Only the files you choose are shared, with read-only access.
• Added an optional red theme and custom accent, background and card colors. The default theme is unchanged.
• Phone-to-phone transfers can show each file's size and progress on both devices. Completed files can be previewed from the transfer screen.

Fixes and improvements

• Longer translations and larger text no longer squeeze common buttons together. Video controls and dialog actions remain reachable on short screens and with the keyboard open.
• New folders and refreshed lists start at the first item, even while files are still loading. Going back restores your previous position.
• The phone-to-phone picker loads categories in pages, searches the full category and keeps selections between pages. Sorting, sharing from another app and temporary-file cleanup were also fixed.
• App cleanup has clearer controls and app icons. Uninstall opens Android's confirmation again; cache clearing stays in system settings.
• Preview actions are grouped in the top-right menu, and more document-provider dialogs use AF's shared layout.

For the full transfer file list, update AF on both phones. Transfers to older versions still work.

• Draw a signature, reset it if needed, and move or resize it on any PDF page. Save back to the original file or choose another location on your phone or a connected server.
• Keep a separate sort order for each folder and Quick location. Refresh returns to the top; going back still restores your place.

PDF signing adds a visible handwritten mark, not a certificate-backed digital signature. Password-protected PDFs and documents with an existing cryptographic signature are left unchanged.
