• Fixed M5Stick S3 dedicated remote pairing/keymap sync compatibility
• The dedicated accessory settings now hide the C/PWR mapping slot on M5Stick S3 remotes, which expose A/B only
• Control writes for remote pairing, keymap sync, and thumbnail clearing now prefer response-backed BLE writes for better stability
• Added same-version hotfix detection and in-app hotfix install flow so refreshed 0.2.8 builds can still be offered inside the app
• Improved update popups/settings to show a short summary of the hotfix contents

This release focuses on external viewer support, Handy Wi-Fi reliability, multi-axis/script handling, serial device compatibility, and several quality-of-life improvements based on recent feedback.

External Viewer Mode

Added an experimental External Viewer Mode for users who want to open the same video in another player while ScriptPlayer+ keeps handling scripts and devices.

• Added external viewer targets for JAVPlayer, JAVPlayerEZ, mpv, PotPlayer, VLC, and custom executables
• Added separate executable path settings for each external viewer
• Limited External Viewer Mode to video files only
• Added basic playback control support for mpv and VLC
• JAVPlayer, JAVPlayerEZ, PotPlayer, and custom players are treated as open-only targets because they do not provide a reliable playback control interface

Handy Wi-Fi Compatibility Mode

Added an optional Handy Wi-Fi Compatibility Mode for older strokers such as Handy 1.

Use this when HSSP setup often fails with complex or dense scripts. When enabled, ScriptPlayer+ gives Handy more time to prepare the uploaded script and retries setup before giving up.

This can improve reliability for older devices, but failed setup attempts may take longer than usual.

Handy Upload And Sync Improvements

Improved the Handy upload and auto-play flow.

• Reduced cases where playback could start before Handy sync finished
• Improved cancellation when switching files during upload/sync
• Reduced stale upload/sync state after stopping or changing media
• Improved handling for HSSP setup timeouts

Multi-Axis And Script Matching Fixes

Improved script loading and axis handling for multi-axis setups.

• Fixed cases where normal single-axis scripts could be incorrectly treated as L0 bundles
• Improved bundled multi-axis script detection
• Reduced repeated parsing during script scanning
• Improved script variant handling and matching stability

Device And Serial Stability

Improved serial/OSR/FunOSR device behavior.

• Fixed an issue where some SR/FunOSR devices could fail to reset or boot correctly after power-cycling while connected through Serial or Bluetooth COM
• Released DTR/RTS control lines after opening serial ports to avoid interfering with device boot/reset behavior
• Added an SR1 2.0 Twist profile using L0 + R0
• Improved idle/home behavior for wired OSR/FunOSR-style devices
• Improved pause/stop handling for serial devices
• Added safer app shutdown handling so device callbacks do not crash the app during exit

Notes

External Viewer Mode is still experimental. mpv and VLC are the recommended targets if playback control or sync behavior matters. JAVPlayer/JAVPlayerEZ/PotPlayer support is mainly intended for opening the video externally.
