Release list
Archive v23
data-v22 with climate-540myr and climate-pohl2022 rebuilt: two antimeridian resampling bugs fixed (the -180 column was a copy of -179, off by up to 17.8 C in Pohl), uint8 encoding now rounds. archive.json states "format": 1. Built as a delta from data-v22.
Archive v22
data-v21 plus layer provenance: surface/, coastlines/, boundaries/ and scotese_coastlines/ each carry a source.json, collected into archive.json sources, which the viewers now credit from. Built as a delta from data-v21.
Archive v21
data-v20 with paleogeography-scotese regenerated: hi-resolution frames now use the manifest's frame ids (385_2, 390_5) and its shared encode ranges (hi sea level was ~1000 m high). Built as a delta from data-v20.
Archive v20
data-v19 plus: TorsvikCocks2017 rotations.json now includes plate 1 (the Paleomagnetic Poles viewer anchors this model on plate 1), and every GAPWaP path gains a head record that tracks the currently displayed age. Nothing else changed.
Archive v19
data-v18 with the paleomagnetic pole set's citation corrected: the VGPs are Torsvik et al. (2012), Earth-Science Reviews 114, 325-368 (carried in the Torsvik & Cocks 2017 plate framework), not Torsvik & Cocks (2017). Nothing else changed.
Archive v18
v17 plus paleomagnetic pole sets (Torsvik & Cocks 2017 VGPs, exported for torsvikcocks2017/scotese/merdith2021/muller2019/seton2012), the new torsvikcocks2017 Reconstruction Model (coastlines topology-simplified at 0.05 deg), and regenerated reconstruction data. Other archive sections unchanged from v17.
Archive v17
Removes the Cao2024/Muller2019 deformation and age-heat-flux models (moved to the private Geode-Deformation repo).
Archive v16
Adds the Boucot, Chen & Scotese (2013) paleolithology point overlay (climate.html) to the Scotese Reconstruction Model.
Archive v15
Adds the Scotese reconstruction (coastlines + static polygons) to the reconstruction_models catalog, and fixes pack_deploy.mjs to gzip/rewrite each Reconstruction Model's static_polygons.geometry and share its rotations path with coastlines -- data-v14 predated both, which is why Plate-Frame Point reported "static polygon data is unavailable" on the deployed site.
Archive v14
Adds the Reconstruction Model catalog section (Müller 2019, Seton 2012) for the new reconstruction-comparison wrapper types. Also gzips coastline/boundary vector data (rotations, geometry, per-age boundary frames), not just volumes -- 924 MB -> 832 MB packed, restoring headroom against the 1 GB Pages cap.
