StepBridge — Early Alpha

A step sequencer for the Music Thing Modular Workshop Computer.

Tracks 1–2 output CV pitch + Pulse gate. All tracks send MIDI note-on/off over USB. Controlled via a browser-based Web UI over WebSerial (Chrome/Edge).

Features

  • Up to 4 tracks (2 CV+Pulse, 2 MIDI-only)
  • Per-step note, gate length, tie, accent, ratchet (up to 8), probability
  • Regular and irregular time signatures
  • Per-track: key/scale, glide, live shift, arp (fwd/rev/ping-pong/random/converge/diverge)
  • Stockhausen-style continuous pitch mutation with Latch to commit
  • 8 save slots across 2 flash sectors, auto-loads last saved slot on boot
  • Internal tempo, external pulse clock, or MIDI clock sync
  • Panel controls: Down=track/length, Middle=step edit, Up=tempo/slot

Installation

Hold BOOTSEL on the Pico, connect USB, drag stepbridge.uf2 to the RPI-RP2 drive.

Web UI

Open stepbridge/web/index.html in Chrome or Edge and click Connect.

Status

Early alpha — feature-complete for the core sequencer. Tested on hardware. Expect rough edges.
