v0.4.17: Image Browser performance — parallel thumbnail loading
Image Browser (v0.4.16–0.4.17)
New Feature: Image Browser
A new Image Browser in the Library sidebar lets you browse PNG images from any folder (defaulting to the app's own GeneratedImages folder), inspect their metadata, and send them to Generate Image.
- 2-column layout: detail panel (left) with image preview, prompt, config grid, and LoRAs; thumbnail grid (right) with search
- Supports both DTS JSON sidecars and embedded PNG metadata (A1111, Draw Things, ComfyUI)
- Send to Generate Image transfers all metadata (prompt, config, LoRAs) with optional img2img toggle
- Change Folder / Reset to default / Reload / Delete / Reveal in Finder actions
- Security-scoped bookmark persistence for folders outside the sandbox
Performance Fix (v0.4.17)
- ~25× faster thumbnail generation — switched from
NSImage(contentsOf:)(decodes entire image) toCGImageSourceCreateThumbnailAtIndex(decodes only pixels needed for display) - Parallel loading via
withTaskGroup— all images load concurrently instead of serially - Progressive display — images appear in batches as they complete rather than all at once
- Stale folder contents clear immediately when switching folders
