swift-render 0.10.0 — Studio preview
Studio preview. swift-render gets a native editor and an agent review loop on top of the engine. You describe the film, your agent writes it in SwiftUI and Metal, and your Mac renders it. You direct it by leaving notes on frames.
Highlights
- swift-render Studio. A native macOS editor for swift-render projects:
- hot reload in about 2 s;
- timeline lanes for clips (each jumps to its
file:line), score events, loudness and comments; - a 16:9 / 9:16 / 1:1 viewer with A/B compare;
- live knobs;
- a render queue with presets for 1080p60, 4K, 9:16, 1:1, App Store previews and GIF.
- The review loop. Leave timecoded notes, with an optional range and a box around a region. They're stored as JSON you commit. Claude Code picks them up through Studio's agent panel, the
swift-render-mcpserver or theswift-render-directorsubagent. It fixes the Swift, renders the frame, looks at it, and replies with an after-frame. Agent runs are git-checkpointed, so Revert undoes a run. - Launch films for any Swift repo.
swift-render launch ~/Code/MyAppscans the project offline (icon, README, changelog, git) and renders an Apple-keynote-style film.swift-render inithands it to you as Swift you own, built from LaunchKit components. - True 3D.
Scene3Drenders SceneKit offscreen fromt, with models, PBR materials, SwiftUI views as textures, soft shadows and depth of field. - The CLI is a library. Any package can ship its own swift-render-style CLI.
The teaser above was made this way. It's 1,200 frames at 1080p60, rendered in 5.3 s on an Apple M5 Mac, and directed in Studio through 38 notes. It's attached below as an MP4.
Everything else is in the full CHANGELOG.
Get started
git clone --depth 1 https://github.com/skyblanket/swift-render.git
cd swift-render
swift run swift-render list
swift run swift-render render KineticType --preview --open
swift run swift-render-studio .The engine needs macOS 14+ and Xcode 15+. Studio compiles your project, so it needs a Swift 6 toolchain (Xcode 26).
