Reader Bridge X4 Pro — source release

Source for touch highlighting, continuous forward/backward cross-page selection, and automatic shared-archive upload/deletion sync on Xteink X4 Pro.

This is a source-only release. No precompiled firmware is distributed. The pinned local build process downloads the development dependencies and creates the application image on your computer. Binary redistribution requirements for the precompiled SDK components have not been fully established.

• The attached source archive includes both recursive submodules and upstream notices, with the full FreeType license supplied alongside the vendored sources.
• Read BUILD-X4PRO.md, THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES.txt, and firmware-source-manifest.json. Verify downloaded files using SHA256SUMS.

Validation: 55 native tests passed; independent review approved; X4 Pro firmware compiled successfully. Physical cross-page selection and exact delivery to the shared archive were verified. Selection stays within one EPUB spine/chapter and captures complete words up to 4 KiB. All-orientation, long-duration battery and heap testing remain separate.

Install only the locally built .pio/build/x4pro/firmware.bin using Settings → System → SD Card Firmware Update, after backing up the SD card. Keep books, fonts, dictionaries and hidden settings. This is an X4 Pro application image: never flash it at offset zero and do not install it on another model.

CrossPoint and FreeInk are MIT-licensed projects with separately licensed dependencies. This release preserves upstream notices and does not imply that every dependency is MIT-licensed, that a commercial license is included, or that the resulting firmware may be redistributed without meeting its component license obligations.
