v4.2.3: Bug fixes for v4.2.0 and v4.2.2

The new (v4.2.2) GMap arg types file-chars and file-lines didn't actually work yet, because of a build order problem.

v4.2.0 introduced a corner-case variable scoping bug that showed up during FSet work.
