Sley 2.1.6 is a point release for the familiar frontend. Deeply nested source now gets a clear diagnostic with its line and column, nested built-in calls parse in linear time, and the new embed API lets Rust hosts compile and run Python-dialect programs in memory, natively or in WebAssembly. Program meaning, fuel and instruction counts are unchanged.

Changes

  • Nesting diagnostics (#60): the familiar frontend bounds nesting at familiar::MAX_NESTING (124 levels; typical programs use fewer than 25) in both dialects. Deeper text is refused with AGENT_FRAME_INVALID at its exact line and column, with a hint to move the inner part into a variable or helper function. Every program the frontend accepts also reloads as a draft.
  • Linear-time nested built-in calls (#60): a parenthesized first argument to sum(, max( and the other built-ins is parsed once per level.
  • Embed API (#59): sley_agent::embed compiles Python-dialect source with compile_python and runs exported functions with Module::call under an exact fuel limit. The new default native feature carries workspaces, the CLI and the binary; without it the pure core and embed build for wasm32-unknown-unknown. Sley Arena uses it for its match runner and player kit.
  • Documentation (#48): the adoption roadmap records a disposition for each finding of the adoption audit.

Kernel, SSMC1, SCB1, SMP1 rules, the instruction set, admission and commit semantics are unchanged. No third-party dependency was added. Default builds are unchanged; a CLI build without the familiar frontend is now --no-default-features --features native. The native test supervisor is still source only: committing a candidate that selects TestCases still refuses with TXN_TEST_EVIDENCE_UNSUPPORTED.

The two maintainer checks check_candidate_result_contract.py and check_transaction_contract.py ran on the maintainer host and passed for this release.
