Deployment and Usage Guide

Introduction

This guide explains how to download, install, and run the Goal Tracking Application. It's primarily for those responsible for setting up the application.


System Requirements

  • Operating System: Windows, macOS, or Linux
  • .NET Runtime: .NET 6.0 or later

Downloading the Application

  1. Go to the GitHub Releases Page:
    • Open your web browser and navigate to the releases page of the Goal Tracking Console Application on GitHub.
  2. Download the Release Package:
    • Find the latest release.
    • Download the file.
  3. Extract the Files:
    • Once the download is complete, extract the contents of the GoalTracking.Console.zip file to a folder on your computer.

Running the Application

  1. Open the Terminal/Command Prompt:
    • Windows: Open the Command Prompt or PowerShell.
    • macOS/Linux: Open the Terminal application.
  2. Navigate to the Application Folder:
    • Use the cd command to navigate to the folder where you extracted the application files.
  3. Run the Application:
    • Execute the application using the following command:

      dotnet GoalTracking.Console.dll

Using the Application

Once the application is running, you'll see the main menu. Please see User Documentation for More Help.


Troubleshooting

Installation Issues

  • Insufficient Storage: Make sure you have enough free storage space on your device.
  • Network Issues: Ensure you have a stable internet connection.
  • Compatibility Issues: Verify that your device's operating system meets the app's requirements.
