Release list
SnapCap v0.1.0
The first public release of SnapCap — a screen-capture app for Windows: snip, annotate, and pin images on top of everything.
Download
SnapCap-0.1.0-win64.zip below. Unzip it anywhere you can write and run SnapCap.exe — there is no installer, and nothing else to install first.
- Requires Windows 10 / 11 (x64).
- SnapCap is a tray app: it opens no window on launch. On Windows 11 the icon hides in the
^overflow flyout. PressF1to snip. - Settings live in
config.ininext to the exe. To uninstall, delete the folder (turn off Run on login first if you enabled it).
What's in it
- Snip — window and UI-element detection, pixel-precise regions, magnifier with color picker, barcode/QR detection, quick snip, capture history, multi-monitor and mixed-DPI support.
- Annotate — shapes, lines and arrows, pencil, marker, mosaic, GPU-accelerated blur, text, numbered labels, eraser; re-select any shape to move, resize, rotate or restyle it.
- OCR — turn a snip or pin into selectable text in place (English included; more languages from Preferences → OCR).
- Record — any region to MP4, MKV, WebM or GIF, with system/mic audio, live drawing, pause, and a trim preview.
- Scrolling capture — stitch content taller or wider than the screen.
- Pin — paste images, colors, text or file paths as floating always-on-top windows; rotate, scale, fade, group, and recover closed pins.
- Remappable global hotkeys with per-app exclusions, and the UI in 12 languages.
