ArtCraft Toolbox v0.2.0
New
- Agent control. Open any Crafting App with its control channel, so an agent can drive the app while you watch. Each installed app has an Agent control switch, in its ⋮ menu and on its page, off by default. Each app gets a port of its own, so several can be open for agents at once, and the app's page says how an agent connects. From the command line:
artcraft-toolbox-cli open <app> --control. - FigCraft (interface design and prototyping) is in the list. Toolboxes already running 0.1.0 got it through the signed catalog too.
Fixes
- New releases show up sooner. GitHub runs the hourly feed job hours late, so a release could stay invisible for most of a day. When the signed feed is more than 90 minutes old, the toolbox now asks GitHub directly about the apps you have installed and about itself (#3).
- Windows: the popover stays on the screen when its tray icon is in the hidden-icons flyout (#1).
- macOS: when the toolbox can't start, for example on a Mac without Metal graphics, it shows an alert with the error and where its log is, instead of quitting silently.
Packages
| Platform | Install |
|---|---|
| macOS 11+ (Apple silicon and Intel) | artcraft-toolbox-0.2.0-macos-universal.dmg: drag ArtCraft Toolbox to Applications |
| Windows 10+ | …-windows-{x64,arm64,x86}-portable.zip (no installer, updates itself) or the .msi |
| Linux (glibc 2.35+) | …-linux-{x86_64,aarch64}.AppImage (updates itself), or the .deb / .rpm |
Every file is listed in SHA256SUMS.txt. A toolbox running 0.1.0 from the DMG, the portable zip or the AppImage offers this update by itself.
Known limitations
- Still not signed: the macOS app is ad-hoc signed and not notarized, and the Windows binaries are unsigned. On macOS, open the app with right-click › Open the first time (or
xattr -d com.apple.quarantineon the app); Windows SmartScreen will warn. Later releases will be signed. - ArtCraft itself can be installed on macOS only (its Windows build is an MSI, which the toolbox doesn't install).

ArtCraft Toolbox v0.1.0
The first release of ArtCraft Toolbox: one app to install, update and launch every Crafting App.
What it does
- Lists the twelve Crafting Apps (PhotoCraft, VectorCraft, FilmCraft, LightCraft, PdfCraft, EffectCraft, DesignCraft, CADCraft, DeckCraft, GridCraft, SoundCraft, WordCraft) and ArtCraft itself, with each one's releases and release notes.
- Installs, updates (on request or automatically), rolls back, opens and uninstalls any of them, verifying every download against its release's checksums and checking the platform signature before a version is activated. Previous versions are kept for rollback.
- Lives in the menu bar or system tray, checks for updates in the background through one signed, aggregated feed, and notifies you when something new is out.
- Speaks 15 languages, in a dark or light theme, and updates itself from its own releases.
- A headless CLI (
artcraft-toolbox-cli) and an MCP server (artcraft-toolbox-cli mcp) expose every command to scripts and agents.

Known limitations of this first release
- The macOS app is ad-hoc signed and not notarized, and the Windows binaries are unsigned: no signing certificates are configured yet. macOS will refuse to open the app with a double-click; use right-click › Open once (or
xattr -d com.apple.quarantineon the app). Windows SmartScreen will warn. Later releases will be signed; the toolbox only accepts a self-update signed by the same developer as the copy it replaces, so a reinstall will be needed when signing arrives. - ArtCraft itself can be installed on macOS only (its Windows build is an MSI, which the toolbox doesn't install).
