Knowledge-as-Code v1.2.0

This release makes the supported source-to-site workflow more reliable. Builds, validation, verification, and MCP now reject inconsistent source relationships through one shared contract. Symlinked output paths are rejected before cleanup, quoted names round-trip correctly, and provision cards show every mapped primary without inflating provision counts.

The public quick start, schema examples, migration example, and assistant guide are covered by executable regression checks. The website now distinguishes generated static output from the separate MCP runtime, and the guide accurately declares generated-output cleanup and temporary test writes.

Changes since v1.1.2 also include MCP protocol-version negotiation and discovery, structured data on generated pages, canonical/demo search checks, and favicon support. GuideCheck generation for initialized projects and the implementation registry remain roadmap items.

Upgrade

Read Migration before updating an existing project. The 1.x entity IDs, routes, API fields, MCP tool names, and mapping keys are preserved. Correct incomplete mapping headings, mismatched authorities, missing provision obligations, or source paths before upgrading. Preserve the project's own configuration, data, identity, and version when copying the updated runtime.

Validation

The complete eval suite passes on Node 18.20.8 and 20.20.2, including 39 behavioral regression tests. All 37 provenance entries verify. A packaged source candidate creates a clean project that validates, builds, verifies freshness, passes link checks, and exposes all nine MCP tools. The canonical demo rebuild is byte-identical.
