NullVPN

NullVPN 1.1.1

NullVPN comes to Linux. Free, fast and simple, now on Windows, Android and Linux.

✨ Highlights

  • 🐧 NullVPN for Linux. As a .deb, an .rpm or an AppImage, with TUN mode, System Proxy and the Aether free tunnel.
  • 🔒 One-click TUN on Linux. A NullVPN (TUN) menu entry that opens with the rights TUN mode needs, without asking for a password.
  • 🪶 Zeptun 1.1.1. The tunnel engine now hands memory back after heavy traffic instead of holding on to it.

🆕 New

  • Linux app (64-bit)
    • TUN mode, driven by the Zeptun engine: the whole system goes through the tunnel.
    • System Proxy mode on GNOME, Cinnamon, Budgie and Unity. On other desktops, point apps at the local proxy port, or use TUN.
    • The Aether free tunnel works here too.
    • Menu entries, nullvpn:// subscription links from your browser, and Launch at login.
    • Your servers and settings are the same whether you open it normally or in TUN mode.
  • NullVPN (TUN) menu entry (.deb, .rpm and .tar.gz) opens with the privilege TUN mode needs, with no password for the person at the computer. Remote logins are still asked for one.

🔧 Improved

  • Zeptun engine updated to 1.1.1 on Windows, Linux and Android. After a burst of traffic it now gives memory back within seconds. With 512 connections open, its memory settles around 4.4 MB instead of 38.7 MB, at the same speed.
  • A clearer message when the Aether helper is missing, instead of a misleading "the core failed to start".
  • Closing NullVPN stops its engines on Windows and Linux closing the window, quitting from the tray, or logging out. Nothing is left running in the background.
  • Clean start after a crash. If NullVPN was killed or the computer lost power while connected, the next start stops the engines that session left behind and turns off the system proxy it left on. Only processes NullVPN itself started are touched an xray or zeptun you run yourself is never stopped and a proxy you set or changed yourself is left alone.
  • On Windows, shutting down or restarting while connected no longer leaves the system proxy on after the reboot.

Tip

Not sure which Android file to pick? Choose arm64-v8a. On Linux, pick the .deb for Debian, Ubuntu or Mint, and the .rpm for Fedora.

📝 Install notes

  • Windows: the installer isn't code-signed yet, so SmartScreen may show "Windows protected your PC". Click More info → Run anyway. Windows 7 and 8 are not supported.
  • Android: Google Play Protect may say it hasn't scanned the app yet. Tap Scan, or More info → Install. Both are fine.
  • TUN mode on Windows needs NullVPN to be run as Administrator that is what lets it create the network adapter.
  • Updating keeps your servers, subscriptions and settings.

Needs Debian 12, Ubuntu 22.04, Linux Mint 21, Fedora 35, RHEL 9 or newer.

No root? ./install.sh --user installs into your home folder instead; remove it with ~/.local/share/nullvpn/uninstall.sh --user. A per-user install has no TUN menu entry.

TUN mode: with the .deb, .rpm or .tar.gz, open NullVPN (TUN) from the menu — no password needed. Close the normal NullVPN window first; only one copy runs at a time.

Uninstalling keeps your servers and settings. To remove those as well:

✨ مهم ترین تغییرات

  • 🐧 NullVPN برای لینوکس. به صورت .deb، .rpm یا AppImage، با حالت TUN، پروکسی سیستم و تانل رایگان Aether.
  • 🔒 حالت TUN با یه کلیک روی لینوکس. یه گزینه NullVPN (TUN) توی منو که با دسترسی لازم برای حالت TUN باز میشه و رمز نمیخواد.
  • 🪶 Zeptun نسخه 1.1.1. موتور تانل حالا بعد از ترافیک سنگین رم رو پس میده و نگهش نمیداره.

  • گزینه منوی NullVPN (TUN) (برای .deb و .rpm و .tar.gz) با دسترسی لازم برای حالت TUN باز میشه و از کسی که پشت کامپیوتره رمز نمیخواد. ورود از راه دور هنوز رمز میخواد.

🔧 بهبودها

  • موتور Zeptun به 1.1.1 آپدیت شد روی ویندوز، لینوکس و اندروید. بعد از ترافیک سنگین، ظرف چند ثانیه رم رو پس میده. با ۵۱۲ اتصال باز، رمش به جای ۳۸.۷ مگابایت حدود ۴.۴ مگابایت میمونه و سرعت همونه.
  • وقتی Aether نصب نیست، پیام خطا واضح تره و دیگه به اشتباه نمیگه «هسته اجرا نشد».
  • با بستن NullVPN هسته ها هم بسته میشن روی ویندوز و لینوکس با بستن پنجره، خروج از tray سیستم یا خروج از حساب. چیزی در پس زمینه باقی نمیمونه.
  • شروع تمیز بعد از کرش. اگه NullVPN موقع اتصال بسته شد یا برق رفت، اجرای بعدی هسته هایی که از اون جلسه مونده رو میبنده و پروکسی سیستمی که روشن مونده رو خاموش میکنه. فقط پروسس هایی که خود NullVPN اجرا کرده بسته میشن xray یا zeptunی که خودت اجرا کردی هیچ وقت بسته نمیشه و پروکسی ای که خودت تنظیم یا عوض کردی دست نمیخوره.
  • روی ویندوز، خاموش کردن یا ری استارت موقع اتصال دیگه پروکسی سیستم رو بعد از روشن شدن روشن نمیذاره.

نمیدونی کدوم فایل اندروید رو بگیری؟ arm64-v8a رو بگیر. روی لینوکس، برای دبیان و اوبونتو و مینت .deb و برای فدورا .rpm رو بگیر.

📝 نکته های نصب

  • ویندوز: فایل نصب هنوز امضای دیجیتال نداره، برای همین ممکنه SmartScreen پیام «Windows protected your PC» نشون بده. روی More info و بعد Run anyway بزن. ویندوز ۷ و ۸ پشتیبانی نمیشن.
  • اندروید: ممکنه Google Play Protect بگه برنامه هنوز اسکن نشده. Scan رو بزن، یا روی More info و بعد Install بزن. هر دوش اوکیه.
  • حالت TUN توی ویندوز باید NullVPN رو Run as Administrator اجرا کنی؛ همین اجازه ساختن کارت شبکه رو میده.
  • با آپدیت، سرورها و اشتراک ها و تنظیماتت سر جاشون میمونن.

پیش نیاز: دبیان ۱۲، اوبونتو ۲۲.۰۴، لینوکس مینت ۲۱، فدورا ۳۵، RHEL 9 یا جدیدتر.

نصب دستی .tar.gz (توی /opt/nullvpn نصب میشه)

دسترسی root نداری؟ با ./install.sh --user توی پوشه خودت نصب میشه و با ~/.local/share/nullvpn/uninstall.sh --user حذف میشه. نصب کاربری گزینه TUN توی منو نداره.

حالت TUN: با .deb یا .rpm یا .tar.gz، از منو NullVPN (TUN) رو باز کن؛ رمز نمیخواد. اول پنجره NullVPN معمولی رو ببند؛ همزمان فقط یکیش اجرا میشه.

با حذف برنامه، سرورها و تنظیماتت پاک نمیشن. اگه میخوای اونا هم پاک بشن:
