NullVPN 1.4.0

A newer Xray core, YouTube and SoundCloud without ads, ad blocking, a system tray, a globe that lights up the country you're connected through, and much faster downloads. On Windows, macOS, iOS, Android and Linux.

✨ Highlights

  • ⚙️ A newer Xray core: patterniha/Xray-core v26.9.27, six months newer than before, on every platform.
  • 🎬 Ad-free YouTube and SoundCloud (Rules). Only these sites go out through free servers in countries where they show no ads, like Russia. Every server is checked before it's used.

🆕 New

  • A newer Xray core on Windows, macOS, iOS, Android and Linux: patterniha/Xray-core v26.9.27, which is the latest official Xray-core plus a few changes. Before, NullVPN shipped Xray 26.3.27, from March.

    • HTTPUpgrade sends a complete WebSocket handshake, so more CDNs accept it.
    • XHTTP packet-up varies the upload size on each request.
    • VLESS and Trojan servers without TLS keep working. Official Xray now refuses them when they point at a public address; this core doesn't. Their traffic is not encrypted, so use them knowingly.
    • Needed by newer configs that require Xray 26.6.27 or later.

  • TLS options in the server editor:

    • Fingerprint is picked from a list of the ones the core supports, instead of typed. REALITY leaves out unsafe, which it refuses.
    • Cipher Suites. Links carry them as cs=, and they're imported. They take effect with the unsafe fingerprint.
    • Pinned certificate SHA-256 and Verify certificate by name (pcs= and vcn= in links). This is how a server with a self-signed certificate is trusted now, since Allow insecure is gone.

  • Subscriptions that publish whole configs. A subscription serving complete Xray configs keeps the ones that aren't a normal server, such as serverless configs that go out directly with fragmentation. Before, a subscription like that added nothing.

  • A name after # names the subscription. Add https://…/configs.txt#NullVPN and the subscription is called NullVPN.

  • Ad-free YouTube and SoundCloud (Settings → Rules). YouTube shows no ads in some countries, most reliably Russia. With this on, only YouTube and SoundCloud go out through free servers there; everything else takes your normal route.

    • Checked before use (Windows, macOS, Linux): NullVPN checks where each server really comes out, then loads a real YouTube page through it. A country is kept only if YouTube shows no ads there. Servers labeled with the wrong country, and countries that have started showing ads, are dropped automatically.
    • Servers come from four public lists, so one list going offline doesn't stop the feature. The 12 fastest are kept.
    • Your own server carries the connection to them, so they work even where they're blocked, and your network never sees a connection to them.
    • ↻ button next to the switch to search again now; otherwise it searches again after connecting, every 12 hours.
    • If no working server is found, the switch is turned off and grayed out. If the servers stop answering, YouTube goes the usual way.

  • Block ads (Settings → Rules). Blocks known ad and tracker domains (geosite:category-ads-all) in every app and browser. Ads a service sends from its own servers, like YouTube's video ads, can't be blocked this way; that's what the ad-free switch is for.

  • System tray on Windows, macOS and Linux:

    • The icon's menu shows whether you're connected and has Connect / Disconnect, Open NullVPN and Quit.
    • Close to tray (Settings): closing the window keeps NullVPN running in the tray. On by default.
    • Start in tray (Settings): with Launch at login, NullVPN starts hidden in the tray.
    • Opening NullVPN again while it's running brings back the existing window, even from the tray.

  • Uses less memory in the background. When the window is hidden or minimized, NullVPN hands back memory it doesn't need, on Windows, macOS and Linux. The engines are also tuned to hold less memory while they run.

  • Windows efficiency mode, on by default (Settings). Windows runs the NullVPN window at low priority to save power and CPU. The engines that carry your traffic keep full speed.

  • A new globe:

    • When you connect, the whole country you're connected through turns green and the globe zooms in on it: all of a large country like Russia, and close in on a small one like the Netherlands. Far-off territories, like Hawaii or France's overseas departments, don't pull the view out.
    • Everything else stays gray, so the green only means one thing: where your connection comes out.
    • When you're not connected, it shows where you are, down to your city.

  • Pin to top. Subscriptions and your own configs have Pin to top in their ⋮ menu. Pinned items stay at the top and show a pin icon.

  • Hold and drag to reorder. Hold a subscription or a config for a moment, then drag it where you want it. Dropping it among the pinned items pins it; dropping it below them unpins it. The new order is saved.

  • Ctrl+V (⌘V on a Mac) imports whatever is on the clipboard from any of the main pages: a subscription address, share links, or a whole config. While you're typing in a text field it pastes into the field as usual.

  • Android: long-pressing the NullVPN tile in Quick Settings opens NullVPN, instead of Android's App info page.

⚡ Improved

  • Faster downloads for app updates and geo files:
    • Large files download over four connections at once, which is steadier and usually faster, especially on networks that slow down each connection.
    • A connection that drops picks up where it stopped, instead of starting over.
    • The progress bar no longer slows the download down: it used to redraw about 2,000 times for one 11 MB file.
    • Tip: connect first. On some networks, GitHub is up to 40 times slower without the tunnel.
  • Messages now slide down from the top of the window in a capsule, instead of sitting at the bottom.
  • Server editing panels open in the middle of the window, and the dock stays behind panels and pages instead of on top of them.
  • Lists scroll all the way past the dock.
  • On a subscription card, the open/close arrow comes first, before the name. The header icons on the Servers page are larger.
  • The dragged card gets a green outline instead of a shadow.
  • On iPhone, the memory readout does less work each time it updates.

🐞 Fixed

  • Servers with "Allow insecure" couldn't connect at all. The core refuses any config that asks to skip the certificate check, and links with allowInsecure=1, which many subscription lists use, turned it on. The option is gone, those servers work again, and a pinned certificate replaces it for servers that need one.

  • Trojan links lost their fragmentation settings (fm=), which help get past filtering. A Trojan link without security= also lost its ALPN and cipher suites.

  • A warning on every connect about freedom.domainStrategy being deprecated is gone.

  • Configs that name their outbounds direct and block (the core's short names) no longer count direct traffic as VPN traffic.

  • Share links with & instead of &, as some web pages and lists write them, now import correctly. Before, their settings were misread and good servers were rejected.

  • XHTTP servers whose settings were written as decimals (like 2.0) no longer stop the engine from starting. Before, one such server could stop every other server from working too.

  • NullVPN builds and installs on newer Linux distributions, whose tray library changed.

Tip

Not sure which Android file to pick? Choose arm64-v8a. On Linux, pick the .deb for Debian, Ubuntu or Mint, and the .rpm for Fedora.

📝 Install notes

  • Windows: the installer isn't code-signed yet, so SmartScreen may show "Windows protected your PC". Click More info → Run anyway. It needs administrator rights, since it installs for all users.
  • macOS: open the .dmg and drag NullVPN into Applications. The app isn't signed by Apple yet, so run this once in Terminal before opening it: xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/NullVPN.app. Updates from inside the app don't need it again.
  • iOS: the .ipa is unsigned. Sign and install it with ESign, Sideloadly or Xcode, using a certificate whose provisioning profile includes the Network Extension entitlement (packet tunnel). The first time you connect, iOS asks to add a VPN configuration; tap Allow.
  • TUN mode on macOS asks for your administrator password the first time, to install its helper. It asks once, not on every connect. To remove the helper later: sudo /Library/PrivilegedHelperTools/com.nullvpn.helper uninstall.
  • Android: Google Play Protect may say it hasn't scanned the app yet. Tap Scan, or More info → Install.
  • Linux tray: the tray icon needs your desktop's AppIndicator support. GNOME needs the AppIndicator extension; KDE, Cinnamon, XFCE and MATE have it built in. The .deb and .rpm install the library it needs.
  • Updating keeps your servers, subscriptions and settings.

✨ مهم ترین تغییرات

  • ⚙️ هسته جدیدتر Xray: patterniha/Xray-core نسخه 26.9.27، شش ماه جدیدتر از قبل، روی همه پلتفرم ها.
  • 🎬 یوتیوب و ساندکلاود بدون تبلیغ (Rules). فقط همین سایت ها از سرورهای رایگان کشورهایی رد میشن که توشون تبلیغ نشون داده نمیشه، مثل روسیه. هر سرور قبل از استفاده چک میشه.
  • 🛡️ مسدود کردن تبلیغات (Rules). دامنه های شناخته شده تبلیغات و ردیاب ها رو توی همه برنامه ها و مرورگرها مسدود میکنه.
  • 🗂️ آیکون کنار ساعت (System tray) روی ویندوز، مک و لینوکس. با بستن پنجره NullVPN روشن میمونه و وقتی مخفیه رم کمتری مصرف میکنه.

🆕 جدید

  • هسته جدیدتر Xray روی ویندوز، مک، iOS، اندروید و لینوکس: patterniha/Xray-core نسخه 26.9.27، یعنی آخرین نسخه رسمی Xray-core به همراه چند تغییر. قبلاً NullVPN نسخه 26.3.27 (مال فروردین) رو داشت.

    • HTTPUpgrade هندشیک WebSocket رو کامل میفرسته، پس CDN های بیشتری قبولش میکنن.
    • XHTTP packet-up اندازه آپلود رو توی هر درخواست عوض میکنه.
    • سرورهای VLESS و Trojan بدون TLS همچنان کار میکنن. Xray رسمی حالا اگه به یک آدرس عمومی وصل بشن ردشون میکنه؛ این هسته نه. ترافیکشون رمزنگاری نشده، پس آگاهانه استفاده کن.
    • برای کانفیگ های جدیدتری که Xray 26.6.27 به بالا میخوان لازمه.

  • تنظیمات TLS توی ویرایش سرور:

    • Fingerprint از یک لیست انتخاب میشه که هسته پشتیبانی میکنه، نه تایپی. برای REALITY گزینه unsafe که ردش میکنه نیست.
    • Cipher Suites. لینک ها به صورت cs= میارنش و وارد میشه. با fingerprint unsafe اعمال میشه.
    • Pinned certificate SHA-256 و Verify certificate by name (pcs= و vcn= توی لینک ها). حالا که Allow insecure حذف شده، سروری که گواهی خودامضا داره این طوری مورد اعتماد قرار میگیره.

  • اشتراک هایی که کانفیگ کامل میدن. اشتراکی که کانفیگ های کامل Xray میده، اون هایی که سرور معمولی نیستن رو هم نگه میداره، مثل کانفیگ های بدون سرور که مستقیم و با fragment وصل میشن. قبلاً همچین اشتراکی هیچی اضافه نمیکرد.

  • اسم بعد از # اسم اشتراک میشه. https://…/configs.txt#NullVPN رو اضافه کن تا اسم اشتراک بشه NullVPN.

  • یوتیوب و ساندکلاود بدون تبلیغ (تنظیمات ← Rules). یوتیوب توی بعضی کشورها تبلیغ نشون نمیده، مطمئن تر از همه روسیه. با روشن کردنش فقط یوتیوب و ساندکلاود از سرورهای رایگان اونجا رد میشن؛ بقیه چیزها از مسیر همیشگی میرن.

    • قبل از استفاده چک میشه (ویندوز، مک، لینوکس): NullVPN چک میکنه هر سرور واقعاً از کجا خارج میشه، بعد یک صفحه واقعی یوتیوب رو از طریقش باز میکنه. یک کشور فقط وقتی نگه داشته میشه که یوتیوب اونجا تبلیغ نشون نده. سرورهایی که کشورشون اشتباه نوشته شده و کشورهایی که تبلیغ نشون دادن رو شروع کردن، خودکار کنار گذاشته میشن.
    • سرورها از چهار لیست عمومی میان، پس از دسترس خارج شدن یکی، این قابلیت رو از کار نمیندازه. ۱۲ تا از سریع ترین ها نگه داشته میشن.
    • اتصال به اون سرورها از طریق سرور خودت انجام میشه، پس حتی جایی که فیلتر هستن کار میکنن و شبکه ات هیچ وقت اتصالی به اون ها نمیبینه.
    • دکمه ↻ کنار سوییچ برای اینکه همین حالا دوباره جستجو کنه؛ وگرنه بعد از اتصال، هر ۱۲ ساعت یک بار خودش دوباره جستجو میکنه.
    • اگه هیچ سرور سالمی پیدا نشه، سوییچ خاموش و خاکستری میشه. اگه سرورها جواب ندن، یوتیوب از مسیر همیشگی میره.

  • مسدود کردن تبلیغات (تنظیمات ← Rules). دامنه های شناخته شده تبلیغات و ردیاب ها (geosite:category-ads-all) رو توی همه برنامه ها و مرورگرها مسدود میکنه. تبلیغاتی که یک سرویس از سرورهای خودش میفرسته، مثل تبلیغات ویدیویی یوتیوب، این طوری مسدود نمیشن؛ سوییچ بدون تبلیغ برای همینه.

  • آیکون کنار ساعت (System tray) روی ویندوز، مک و لینوکس:

    • منوی آیکون نشون میده وصلی یا نه، و گزینه های Connect / Disconnect، Open NullVPN و Quit رو داره.
    • بستن به کنار ساعت (تنظیمات): با بستن پنجره، NullVPN کنار ساعت روشن میمونه. پیش فرض روشنه.
    • شروع در کنار ساعت (تنظیمات): همراه با اجرا موقع ورود، NullVPN مخفی کنار ساعت شروع میشه.
    • اگه وقتی NullVPN بازه دوباره اجراش کنی، همون پنجره قبلی برمیگرده، حتی از کنار ساعت.

  • رم کمتر در پس زمینه. وقتی پنجره مخفی یا کوچیک میشه، NullVPN رمی که لازم نداره رو آزاد میکنه، روی ویندوز، مک و لینوکس. هسته ها هم طوری تنظیم شدن که موقع کار رم کمتری نگه دارن.

  • حالت بهره وری ویندوز (Efficiency mode)، پیش فرض روشن (تنظیمات). ویندوز پنجره NullVPN رو با اولویت پایین اجرا میکنه تا برق و پردازنده کمتری مصرف بشه. هسته هایی که ترافیکت رو رد میکنن با سرعت کامل کار میکنن.

  • کره جدید:

    • وقتی وصل میشی، کل کشوری که ازش خارج میشی سبز میشه و کره روش زوم میکنه: کل یک کشور بزرگ مثل روسیه، و از نزدیک روی یک کشور کوچیک مثل هلند. سرزمین های دور مثل هاوایی یا مناطق ماورای دریای فرانسه، دید رو دور نمیکنن.
    • بقیه جاها خاکستری میمونن، پس سبز فقط یک معنی داره: جایی که اتصالت ازش خارج میشه.
    • وقتی وصل نیستی، جایی که هستی رو تا سطح شهر نشون میده.

  • سنجاق به بالا. اشتراک ها و کانفیگ های خودت توی منوی ⋮ گزینه سنجاق به بالا دارن. موارد سنجاق شده بالای لیست میمونن و آیکون سنجاق دارن.

  • نگه دار و بکش برای جابجا کردن. یک اشتراک یا کانفیگ رو یک لحظه نگه دار، بعد بکشش هر جا میخوای. اگه بین موارد سنجاق شده رهاش کنی سنجاق میشه؛ اگه پایین ترشون رهاش کنی از سنجاق درمیاد. ترتیب جدید ذخیره میشه.

  • Ctrl+V (توی مک ⌘V) هر چیزی که توی کلیپ بورده رو از هر کدوم از صفحه های اصلی وارد میکنه: آدرس اشتراک، لینک های اشتراک گذاری یا یک کانفیگ کامل. وقتی داری توی یک فیلد تایپ میکنی، مثل همیشه همون جا پیست میکنه.

  • اندروید: نگه داشتن تاگل NullVPN توی Quick Settings خود NullVPN رو باز میکنه، نه صفحه App info اندروید رو.

⚡ بهبودها

  • دانلود سریع تر برای آپدیت برنامه و فایل های Geo:
    • فایل های بزرگ همزمان با چهار اتصال دانلود میشن که پایدارتر و معمولاً سریع تره، مخصوصاً روی شبکه هایی که سرعت هر اتصال رو کم میکنن.
    • اگه یک اتصال قطع بشه، از همون جایی که مونده ادامه میده، نه از اول.
    • نوار پیشرفت دیگه دانلود رو کند نمیکنه: قبلاً برای یک فایل ۱۱ مگابایتی حدود ۲۰۰۰ بار دوباره کشیده میشد.
    • نکته: اول وصل شو. توی بعضی شبکه ها گیت هاب بدون تانل تا ۴۰ برابر کندتره.
  • پیام ها حالا به شکل یک کپسول از بالای پنجره پایین میان، نه پایین صفحه.
  • پنل های ویرایش سرور وسط پنجره باز میشن، و داک پشت پنل ها و صفحه ها میمونه نه روشون.
  • لیست ها تا آخر از زیر داک رد میشن.
  • روی کارت اشتراک، فلش باز و بسته کردن قبل از اسم میاد. آیکون های بالای صفحه Servers بزرگ تر شدن.
  • کارتی که داری میکشیش به جای سایه، یک حاشیه سبز میگیره.
  • روی آیفون، نمایش مصرف رم هر بار کار کمتری انجام میده.

🐞 رفع مشکلات

  • سرورهایی که "Allow insecure" داشتن اصلاً وصل نمیشدن. هسته هر کانفیگی که بخواد بررسی گواهی رو رد کنه قبول نمیکنه، و لینک هایی با allowInsecure=1 که خیلی از لیست های اشتراک دارن، روشنش میکردن. این گزینه حذف شد، اون سرورها دوباره کار میکنن، و برای سرورهایی که لازمش دارن pinned certificate جاش رو گرفته.

  • لینک های Trojan تنظیمات fragment شون (fm=) رو که برای رد شدن از فیلتر کمک میکنه از دست میدادن. لینک Trojan بدون security= هم ALPN و cipher suites رو از دست میداد.

  • هشدار هر بار اتصال درباره منسوخ شدن freedom.domainStrategy دیگه نیست.

  • کانفیگ هایی که outbound هاشون رو direct و block نامگذاری میکنن (اسم های کوتاه هسته) دیگه ترافیک مستقیم رو جزو ترافیک VPN حساب نمیکنن.

  • لینک های اشتراک گذاری با & به جای &، همون طور که بعضی صفحه های وب و لیست ها مینویسن، حالا درست وارد میشن. قبلاً تنظیماتشون اشتباه خونده میشد و سرورهای سالم رد میشدن.

  • سرورهای XHTTP که تنظیماتشون به صورت اعشاری نوشته شده (مثل 2.0) دیگه جلوی اجرای هسته رو نمیگیرن. قبلاً یکی از این سرورها میتونست بقیه سرورها رو هم از کار بندازه.

  • NullVPN روی توزیع های جدیدتر لینوکس که کتابخونه tray شون عوض شده، ساخته و نصب میشه.

نمیدونی کدوم فایل اندروید رو بگیری؟ arm64-v8a رو بگیر. روی لینوکس، برای دبیان و اوبونتو و مینت .deb و برای فدورا .rpm رو بگیر.

📝 نکته های نصب

  • ویندوز: فایل نصب هنوز امضای دیجیتال نداره، برای همین ممکنه SmartScreen پیام «Windows protected your PC» نشون بده. روی More info و بعد Run anyway بزن. چون برای همه کاربرها نصب میکنه، دسترسی ادمین میخواد.
  • مک: فایل .dmg رو باز کن و NullVPN رو بکش توی Applications. برنامه هنوز امضای اپل نداره، پس قبل از باز کردنش یک بار توی Terminal بزن: xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/NullVPN.app — آپدیت های داخل برنامه دیگه لازمش ندارن.
  • iOS: فایل .ipa امضا نداره. با ESign، Sideloadly یا Xcode امضا و نصبش کن، با سرتیفیکیتی که پروفایلش دسترسی Network Extension (packet tunnel) داره. بار اول که وصل میشی، iOS میپرسه VPN Configuration اضافه بشه — Allow رو بزن.
  • حالت TUN توی مک بار اول رمز ادمین رو میپرسه تا هلپرش رو نصب کنه؛ فقط یک بار، نه هر بار که وصل میشی. برای حذف هلپر: sudo /Library/PrivilegedHelperTools/com.nullvpn.helper uninstall
  • اندروید: ممکنه Google Play Protect بگه برنامه هنوز اسکن نشده. Scan رو بزن، یا روی More info و بعد Install بزن.
  • آیکون کنار ساعت روی لینوکس: به پشتیبانی AppIndicator دسکتاپت نیاز داره. گنوم افزونه AppIndicator رو لازم داره؛ KDE، Cinnamon، XFCE و MATE خودشون دارن. بسته های .deb و .rpm کتابخونه لازم رو نصب میکنن.
  • با آپدیت، سرورها و اشتراک ها و تنظیماتت سر جاشون میمونن.
