Alfred learned a new trick. Paste anything from a shopping list to a foreign street sign and the workflow figures out which language you typed, which direction you meant, and whether you fat-fingered the input along the way. Single words show up with a dictionary on the side.

What's New

• Auto language detection: The workflow detects the input language automatically across 130+ supported languages, so there is no manual direction to set.
• Smart bidirectional mode: Text in your primary language goes to your target language; anything else comes back to your primary language.
• Dictionary entries for single words: Single-word queries show additional entries grouped by word class (noun, verb, adjective, and so on) with synonyms.
• Alternative translations: Multiple top translations appear as separate Alfred results instead of only the best guess.
• Transliteration for non-Latin scripts: Romanized pronunciation is shown below the main translation for languages like Japanese, Korean, Arabic, or Hindi.
• Autocorrect: Typos are caught and a corrected version is offered at the top of the results before translating.
• Parallel requests: Both translation directions run at once, so response time stays constant regardless of which language you typed in.
• Configurable languages and keyword: Primary language, target language, and the Alfred keyword can be set in the workflow config (defaults to German to English with keyword t).
