v1.7.7

@snazzybean snazzybean released this 16 Sep 18:04

An air conditioner that has been cooling all afternoon is a cold, wet metal box sitting in the dark. Whatever grows in there announces itself the next time you switch the unit on. RoomMind can now keep the fan running after cooling stops, which is the boring fix that happens to work.

What's New

  • Evaporator drying for air conditioners: After cooling, the indoor fan now keeps running for a short, configurable time before the unit fully switches off, helping prevent mold buildup and musty smells on the next start. Configurable globally and per device, off by default.

Bug Fixes

  • Deleted presence entities no longer disable a room's presence detection: If a person or device tracker assigned to a room was removed from Home Assistant, the room stopped switching to eco when everyone left. The remaining entities are now used instead (#397).
  • Blinds no longer close when you walk into a room: Body heat counted toward the predicted overheating that triggers shading, even though blinds only block sunlight. Shading is now measured against the room's comfort cooling temperature rather than its heating setpoint, which in heating-only rooms sat about 3 °C too low (#418).
  • No cooling toward the heating target: In rooms without an external sensor, a manual override that set only a heating target could make an air conditioner cool the room down to that value instead of heating it.
  • Implausible schedule temperatures: A typo in a schedule block (110 instead of 11) no longer causes hours of heating toward an impossible target. Values outside 5 to 35 °C fall back to the comfort temperature, with a warning shown in the room's schedule section (#395).
