Release 0.5.1
Release Notes
Overview
This release introduces configuration file support, allowing you to save and load your preferred settings across sessions instead of re-entering command-line options every time. It also includes several bug fixes and internal code quality improvements.
Features
- Configuration file support — Loadbars can now read settings from a config file, making it easy to persist your preferred display options (host list, toggles, dimensions, etc.) without lengthy command lines.
- Write config support — Save your current runtime settings to a config file directly from within loadbars, so you can capture a working setup and reuse it later.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed
--showcoresoption — The core display toggle now works correctly. - Fixed auto text disable — Automatic text rendering (which turns off text labels when the window is too small) no longer misbehaves across multiple scenarios.
- Fixed config file parsing bugs — Several issues in
read_configthat could cause incorrect or ignored settings have been resolved.
Breaking Changes
- Removed
--titleoption — The--titlecommand-line flag has been removed. If you relied on it in scripts, you will need to update them.
Improvements
- Added structured error codes internally for more reliable error handling.
- Copyright information is now printed to stdout on startup.
- General code formatting cleanup and improved inline documentation.
